Title: Paint. Post by: ThreadJack on December 29, 2010, 02:45:55 AM So I got a Malice grab bag about a week ago, and it has some paint blemishes(as you'd expect from a grab bag). I'm looking to do some touch ups on it, but I'm not sure what the best paint is for PVC material. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Title: Re: Paint. Post by: Ultra on December 29, 2010, 04:17:58 AM Sure, any paint for plastic models will work, and you can get that at Wal-Mart or any hobby shop.
Title: Re: Paint. Post by: ThreadJack on December 29, 2010, 04:21:42 AM Thanks Ultra. I have to say you guys are VERY helpful. You make a great product, have excellent customer service and can consider me a customer for a long time to come.

Title: Re: Paint. Post by: ThreadJack on December 29, 2010, 09:23:42 PM Houston we have a problem! I got some Krylon Fusion spray paint and well....... I sprayed it and it now appears that something funky is happening. It looks like the original black is starting to come off underneath! It looks absolutely terrible! I got Silver Metallic(the black was too Sithy for me). I've used about three or four coats and I can't get rid of the wrinkles left by the original paint chipping! So it looks like I'll have to sand it down and repaint it entirely. Something I'm not comfortable doing. :-\ Me and my darn ideas......
Title: Re: Paint. Post by: Ultra on December 30, 2010, 03:55:42 AM That's unusual, the paint shouldn't have crazed like that unless there was something on the hilt before painting, like oil from your hands. You're going to have to sand off the new paint, or use acetone to clean it off and then try again. Be sure to wipe the saber down with some alcohol on a cotton ball before painting.
Title: Re: Paint. Post by: ThreadJack on December 30, 2010, 04:10:23 AM I guess I didn't clean it as well as I thought. Also being a complete noob I tried painting it outside in 35 degree weather! I would have known not to attempt this if in anything colder than 50 had I taken the time to read the back of the can!:-[ Looks as though this project might have to wait until at least March seeing as how my deck is the only proper place I have for spraypainting.
Title: Re: Paint. Post by: Itachicorp on January 07, 2011, 11:50:52 AM you shouldn't have to wait till march. ive been spray painting all winter what i do is take it outside paint it and emidiatly bring it back inside where its warm and (nock on wood) no ploblems yet. Wish you best of luck with it.
Title: Re: Paint. Post by: sjorsjo91 on January 07, 2011, 02:07:07 PM you could also use chrome tape instead of paint. Just sharing my thoughts though.
Title: Re: Paint. Post by: Lord_BoOgEyMaN on January 07, 2011, 05:31:36 PM youll get it worked out, and im sure it will come out looking better then you wanted, plus you put all the time into it and truley made it your saber
Title: Re: Paint. Post by: ThreadJack on January 07, 2011, 06:03:37 PM I tried chrome tape but I can't get it to go down flat for some reason. I always wind up with air bubble and creases.
