Compared to the DVA in person yes it's pinker. IMO, VA is a more Mace Windu purple, than the DVA, which is more blue making it a deep Indigo. I was just looking for a nice purple for my girlfriend. Than I think she would be very happy with the normal Violet Amethyst. It's not as blazingly pink as the Bane's Heart, which is the extreme opposite of DVA. M.J. abhors pink and while VA is pinker than DVA, she loves it; not so much about the Bane's Heart. ;D Title: Re: Comparison: Violet and Dark Violet Amethyst. Yes because they're emitting two different colored lights. I would say that the DVA is more subdued in terms of illumination due to the blue added to the LED.
