Purple sabers!!!!

The DVA looks great on the catalyst.

After seeing this I now know my Grab Bag I ordered with DVA is actually just VA. :(

Tasty pics Kham. I never realized how blue DVA was or is that just the camera? cause in two of the pics it looks completely blue. Regardless nice comparison and really digging the wraps on the revan   8)

Blue.... well it's a toughy. lol

Because it's more blue than the normal VA it makes the color look like a "Blacklight" and as awesome as my camera is, the color of the light picked up is always blue; The DVA though itself though is not crazy blue like that.

I second that, for me, it's like an indigo.

It's blue on camera because the color, is so indigo it acts like a "Black Light" (Which is ultra violet) on camera.

With the ambient light, the UV is diffused giving us a closer look at the color a black light is in person.

The moment the lights go out the camera can't diffuse the light as well. That overwhelms the camera with so much light, it appears blue.

(I'm no expert on any of what I just said but from what research I've done, this seems logical.)

I have always preferred women's deodorant as well. . .I'm relived to have finally come out of the closet there, and am impressed at your willingness to reveal your preferences on the internet.

Side note: I have (on many occasions,) enjoyed your posts and learned from your experience.  Thanks for the clarification on the deodorant.  I guess that leaves me alone with my own preference.  :'( 

I will say that one of my favorite colors is the VA (and is my son's favorite.)  SY is on the list to obtain. 

And, if you were wondering who was giving you all those light side points. . .I never miss.

Thanks for answering my request for this.  I've always wanted to see the three together.  This confirmed my choice....
I just placed (literally) an order for a Guardian in DVA, Obsidian w/Blue AV, UE blade.  Can't wait!

Gotta admit, I paused when I saw the VA in the dark, very nice... but I think I'll prefer the DVA in person.  I had a chance to get a Windu MR for a good price but I've never been 100% with that color or VA, not that they're bad, just not 'my' ideal purple... once the DVA pics started showing up here, I knew that was it but being a little ocd-ish, I've always wanted a side by side (by side) to confirm my thoughts.
  
Psyched about this order.  I started squirreling money away last fall (after my DragonCon/Archon purchase) for a Consular and then they released the Guardian and that became the goal... now I'm getting both!  I ordered the Guardian earlier today and I've just got to clear up a raffle question with Deep and (hopefully) tomorrow night I'll place the Consular order.  I already have a Phantasm Initiate V2 (CG/GB) & an Archon V2 (SRD/Obsidian/GreenAV).  Once I have my reward points ready, I'll be cashing in all of them for a DIV3 (I think).  I'm going to have to build a saber rack now!  Such problems!

btw, anyone know if the coupon raffle code should appear on an order confirmation?  I entered it but didn't see confirmed anywhere... I have an email in to Deep but just wondering if someone knows offhand.

One more thing, thanks to Kham and everyone on this board, it's a great forum for a posting-shy saber enthusiast to interact in... nothing but helpful or at the very least 'non-snarky' replies.  

First - The compulsion to buy sabers grows the moment you get one in your hand; After mine kicked in I started a "Saber Addicts Anonymous" thread. ;D

It's terrifying being new to forums and seeing titles saying "Grand Master, Master Chief Jedi Sith King" (That was exaggerated but that's how I felt. lol), Then you see their replies to some posts and get scarred away.

I'm stuck again on my new blade color. I want a purple saber, but I think the VA is a bit too pink for me. I already have a guardian blue saber so I don't want a saber that is almost the same blue. I want a darker purple. Then again Bane's heart looks great, but so does Sentinel yellow. Dang I'm just so picky when it comes to color  ???

I'm going to say SY because I am biased. ;D But the VA is not as pink in person as it is in pictures. I wish I could fly to everyone's house with a case of lightsabers so you can all see the color you want before you get it.

You can always use a filter to get exactly what you want, I know it's not as satisfying as just choosing a color.

It's definitely hard to explain to people, and I totally feel for you JediGuardian.  I've been an Ultrasabers addict... erm I mean "fan" for a long time now and I STILL do the same thing with new colors.

If this helps at all, the DVA MLS unit I ordered for my brother's Bane ended up being a nice deep purple.  The regular VA is a good in between color though, I highly doubt you'll find it too pink.

Here's my recommendation - get regular VA and a set of Lee color filters.  Since the VA is an RGB led it can be tweaked using color filters, giving you more blue or more red depending on your tastes.  I think that will be a good setup for you.

If no one minds me asking, this seems to be a good thread, when ordering the DVA, does it matter which of the premium colors you select? VA in particular perhaps? Thhank you.

Yes, you'd select the Violet Amethyst option and request "Dark Violet" as a color.

Im going to be getting some store credit soon with US and im planning on my wife's saber, she wants Bane's Heart.  so ive got a couple of questions:

1) does BH stay a pink hue no matter how charged the batteries are?

2) to get the BH color, do i need to order the color it is associated with? (Violet Amethyst)

3) and is it just the comments box at the order confirmation that you type - "i would like my saber color to be Bane's Heart"?

1.  It depends on what power source you have.  With regular (alkaline) batteries, you have a ramping in voltage as you use them, so the color changes from the default (magenta) all the way to a pale red.  The Li-ion batteries, however, have a consistent voltage throughout their life, so the color stays the same.  With colors like the Bane's Heart I would highly recommend this setup.

2.  Yes, order the Violet Amethyst and write in the order comments that you would like it to be Bane's Heart.  I typically put the color name in all caps so they can't miss it, but that's just me.

What's up, Kham-ryn? On the BH, is that a UE blade or a midgrade? I'm about to buy my sister her first blade (Initiate) and I wanna know what both blades look like, so I can make her first the best. ;D

All of the pictures i take are with a Mid Grade blade. ;D

It looks great in either UE or Mid Grade; I have no heavies so don't wuote me on that.

It's a very vibrant color, so in the end again it comes down to personal preference.

Do you have any pics with an ultraedge or have found a thread that does?

Wonderful pics Kham! a buddy of mine is picking his 2nd Saber and he wants to get as close to a Windu colored blade as possible, but he has been conflicted over these three. Thanks to your pics I can direct him here and I'm sure without a shadow of a doubt he'll see VA is what he wants to go with.

This helped me figure out that one of my MLS units is actually a DVA rather than a VA. I wondered why it photographed blue. Thanks for the post and have a point.

Has anyone with a RGBW Emerald Driver figured out what the #s are to achieve these three colors?  i can approximate but i'd really like something more accurate.

It's actually pretty important to come at this with the understanding that one mixed color saber to another mixed color saber of nominally the same color, you're going to have some variation.  It's just the nature of how they do these colors.  So, even if you got a hard wired DVA or similar, it's NOT an exact standardized hue.  That's part of why, when you buy an Emerald saber and ask them to set it to something like DVA or Bane's Heart, the technician setting the color before shipping eyeballs it, and they don't have a prescribed setting at Ultrasabers shop for these colors.

That said, my first Emerald saber, a Dark Menace, arrived in a DVA setting of B 100%, R 13.7%, and I love the color that results from that. 

My second Dark Menace arrived with DVA set at B 100, R 27.5

I've seen people post their recipe for DVA as B 100, R 18

Same with Bane's Heart.  I've seen people post settings of B 11.4, R 100, while my own interpretation is B 25.9, R 58.



For VA, I had my Dark Menaces set from the factory to flash-on-clash to VA, and they were set at B 100% R 27.8% and B 100% R 43.5%.  Note that my second Dark Menace, from the factory, had a "DVA" that was almost exactly the first Dark Menace's VA.

In short, there are no exact, 100% correct values for these mixed colors, but try some of the ones I've listed and play around with them from there.

Three matching colors. I have BH on The Malice, VA on the War Glaive, DVA also on the Catalyst.
