Big bucks, big bucks, no whammies... STOP!!!

So, I finally broke down and ordered a pair of Grab Bag sabers.  One with the Guardian Blue blade and one with the Arctic Ice blade.  My reason?  Because US rocks!  But also because I need a heavy duty saber with a heavy duty blade for my lightsaber choreography classes.

Up until now, I have been using an Ebay purchased $30 MR Force FX Vader ESB.  However, when I got it, it had about five LEDs blown.  In the past year, it now has a good foot-long section missing in the middle of the blade.  Not to mention, how many Jedi use red blades?

So, you may be asking, why two?  Well, I am a cheap bastage and am getting the Arctic Ice saber for my girlfriend for her birthday.  I'm also making her a martial arts style sword case with a lock.  I plan to let her open the sword case in the morning and then give her the key to the lock for her new saber at her party (I'm devious like that).

So, I will soon be joining the US ranks when the box comes in.  Now the only thing I am worried about is that she might get a better-looking saber than me!  :D

I can think of several offhand ;D

Had to give you a point for the double blue sabers.  Great choices and nice that one is for your girlfriend.  Nice delivery on the present as well.  As always, we love pictures.  Welcome to the forums!

The sabers are a blue Standard Issue Battle Saber with some extra detailing and a blue Liberator.  The Standard Issue has the Arctic Ice blade and the Liberator has the Guardian Blue.

Blue on blue, huh? That's actually not too bad. I can think of more offensive combos....

I LOVE the Standard Issue with its vertical grooves!!!  I too just recently ordered one of these now famous grab bags and waiting to see what comes in.  I would love to get the standard issue, BUT the Liberator looks just as awesome!  That was cool they send you two different style sabers for your order!  Looking forward to seeing what kinds of customization you are planning :)

Well, if I can ever find a tutorial, I plan on adding the two boards from the Hasbro Sabers I purchased (adding sound).  Also, I plan to make a outer sheath around the base saber to give it some offset.  The Liberator is going to be gold in color while the Standard will be up to my friend when she opens her gift.

Would LOVE to see pics when you decide to paint that Liberator Gold.  Let me know also what paint you use, I may do the same when I get my saber in.  I am just chomping at the bits as mine will not be here to around the 15th....got to love that West to East coast time in transit......But anyway  Good Luck on the mods! 

I'm not painting the saber gold, I'm making a cover piece for around the hilt (like the outer layer on the Qui-Gon saber) that will be colored gold.  But I will definitely post pics when I get it done.

A golden shroud sounds awesome! Looking forward to seeing it completed 8)
