Title: Need Help with a decision..... Post by: digitalsithlord on May 14, 2012, 12:20:32 PM Okay here is my question for you guys (and gals) who frequent the forums. I just order my first saber, a grab bag, and I am awaiting its arrival. I am getting ready to hit the big "40" and have decided to order a lightsaber for bday. I currently torn between the Monarch and the War Glaive. I do plan on getting the obsidian sound board with the light up AV switch on it. I am really leaning towards the monarch because it is simply breathtaking and I love its curves and simplicity. If I were to get this I would definetly have to get the nickle finish, but not sure if there is a way to get it to where it will mount to your belt? The War Glaive, on the other hand, has the style with the claws I kinda like with all its Sith Goodness......both are beautiful works of art so I am requesting a little insight in making a decision.....Thank you for your time :)

You could probably email them and ask about attaching a covertec knob to the Monarch, I'm sure it's possible. The only issue I see is the shape of the hilt itself... it helps to have a somewhat smooth surface for the knob to screw in. It's worth a shot though! Title: Re: Need Help with a decision..... Order one for me too! ;D Title: Re: Need Help with a decision..... Post by: Kaiden Shardsbane on May 14, 2012, 05:17:44 PM Hmm...
The War Glaive seems to have more options, such as MHS compatibility, easier to add a covertech wheel, etc. The Monarch has those curves. Sabers, like women, look good curvy. Aha! Here's the deciding factor (at least for me): The Monarch does not have Quick Disconnect capability, while the War Glaive does. Title: Re: Need Help with a decision..... Title: Re: Need Help with a decision..... Post by: Master Nero Attoru on May 14, 2012, 06:15:44 PM What exactly is the quick disconnect option I have seen???? It's for hilts with removable emitters. Basically the MLS unit (which holds the LED) has these clips wired, so that you can just unhook it from the internals easily. You just plug another one in and screw the emitter back on and BOOM, you have another color! You just gotta order the MLS unit you want with the hilt, and be sure to select the "quick disconnect" option installed when you buy the saber. Title: Re: Need Help with a decision..... (http://i.imgur.com/sma2c.jpg) I've heard good things about the one handed grip on the Monarch. The Warglaive emitter does have a really nice choke point up towards the top of the emitter. I'd personally go for the Monarch, but I have a preference for lighter one handed sabers. Title: Re: Need Help with a decision..... Post by: xMattcheeeeww on May 14, 2012, 06:24:50 PM A lot of people seem to like the war glaive. I am not a huge fan of it. I would personally go with the monarch simply because it is so unique. I mean how many people out there have a more curved hilt but not too big to handle? (i don't mean curved like dooku's, just is more round and curvy) and i know the covertec knob is an additional $10 (correct me if i'm wrong) charge. The only issue i could see would be that the hilt is more round and that might not have enough area to cover under the covertec knob. Let us know what you choose!
Title: Re: Need Help with a decision..... Post by: JediGuardian18 on May 16, 2012, 07:43:20 PM Personally, I like the War Glaive. It is MHS compatible, which means you could order any parts from the custom saber shop's Modular Hilt System for customization whenever you want a change. It can have Quick Disconnect, which saves money in the end. Instead of ordering a new saber every time you want a new color, you can just order the LED module. Also the emitter on the War Glaive has those windows that let light through. Plus I don't really like all those curves on the Monarch, it just doesn't fit my classic view of what a lightsaber should look like. Idk call me crazy, but I just don't like the way it looks. I guess it can look shiny with the nickel plating, but TCSS can do that in many more finishes. So I vote War Glaive: MHS compatible, detachable Emitter and Pommel, Quick Disconnect, more customization options.
