I like it... these moves are similar to the velocity I've come up with for Shii Cho... similar, but also way different. It focuses on the fundamentals though.

As usual Master Nonymous... Great video. I love that you involved the younglings.

Thank you Master Kane, as always your feed back is appreciated.

But they are the Padawans, not the younglings. Don't get that confused around them. You'll get "Sai Cha'ed"!

Lol youngling simply means a young one, but I wouldn't want about 5 padawans coming after me lol. Actually there may be a video of that somewhere in the future lol.

Seriously though, good stuff.

I can't wait to star working on these with my guys. We might be staring an apprenticeship sort of program soon. None of us are masters, but even knights took padawans.

I'll be suggesting the pairs work on these.

According to the book The Jedi Path, the term "youngling" and "Jedi Initiate" are used interchangeably, but are radically different from the term "padawan".

As a Jedi Initiate (or youngling), your training can start as early as two years of age. You live within the confines and relative safety of the Jedi Temple. You learn the basics of what it means to live the life of a Jedi. It isn't until about the time that an Initiate reaches the ages of 12 to 14 that he or she can be chosen to become a Padawan and accompany a Jedi Knight or Jedi Master.

"The life of a Padawan is radically different from that of an Initiate. Your activities as a youngling were shared and structured, but as a Padawan, you will be executing open-ended missions and will be expected to keep up with Jedi wo outmatch you in every step". The Jedi Path, page 50, second paragraph.

These children here would be considered younglings or Jedi Initiates, learning the basics of lightsaber combat from a master in the Jedi Temple. At some point, they will take part in the "apprentice tournament" in which they will fight against each other. Many Jedi Knights and Jedi Masters are present during this tournament and can or will select their one of the initiates to be their padawan learner.

By the way, Master Nonymous, excellent work with these Initiates! My son was watching them and thought it was really neat. Now I have something structured that I can teach him.

The girl in particular seems to be the best out of all of the students. Kudos to all!!

That girl is named Ben. And yes, he is very good.

But they are all Padawans in our school, meaning official students. In chinese term "indoor" students.

Ok, next up is the "Kessel Run" ::)

This one is very fast and goes straight back and forth. It is a nice one to use with Solah training as it practices reversing aggressive advances. However, due to the location of these strikes and speed at with they can be done, this one can be a bit more precarious than the others.

Please wear safety gear when doing ANY of the velocities especially this one. And also stay one pace out of range when practicing without head gear. Lots of these come to eye level, don't get close enough to tag anyone.

These first three are great building blocks for choreography. The next one can actually be modulated to produce a variety of combinations.

And finally, the last velocity! This one can easily be briged into free play at intermediate levels. I am also experimenting with some simple rules for Sola training that I will be working on through the summer. But, at least this part is done.

Enjoy!

Once again, this is so very much helpful.

With these velocities I can begin to teach my son some structure, while learning it myself at the same time.

Thank you so very much!

Regardless of the label assigned these are hardworking young people with a lot of promise. They are the future for the propagation of martial arts.

Oh I agree 100%, and I meant absolutely NO offense. They are doing a wonderful job.
