Title: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: JapzLapeno on June 09, 2012, 02:49:55 AM Putting this here because it's not really part of a review, so some of you may have been redirected here from my review thread.

I was supposed to get her the bronze colored buttons and forgot because i kept thinking 'gold is better.' She's not upset, she'll just rub it in my face from time to time the rest of our lives. ;D Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: Master Lucien Kane on June 09, 2012, 02:51:52 AM Nice choice! for a first lightsaber! Now let's see a friendly husband vs wife grudge match! lol. Safely of course.
Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: JapzLapeno on June 09, 2012, 03:11:03 AM lol, maybe after she learns how to keep swinging and not constantly lock up. And after i get my saber. Right now i could only fight her with a toy store saber and those now feel EXTREMELY fragile and thin and PITIFUL. LOL! ;D
Also after we find a camera man that's not me. :P Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: Kham-Ryn Kurios on June 09, 2012, 02:01:34 PM lol, maybe after she learns how to keep swinging and not constantly lock up. Master Lucien came up with a great way to help those that, (like most of us) don't like being hit in the face, so we lock up. Go buy a pair of pool noodles and slide them on the blades; it should be a near perfect fit. That way you guys can go at each other without serious harm. Anyway, great unboxing; I have to get a graflex for sheer nerd sake. lol Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: Ninja-Jedi on June 09, 2012, 11:13:17 PM nice saber the graflex truly is a masterpeice, not to be perverted but u do realize we can see down her shirt lol
Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: JapzLapeno on June 10, 2012, 01:54:32 AM It's not so much fear of getting hit, it's just the way she fights with light sabers.
And that's the way she dresses normally. She just got back from work. Though because of forum rules, i'll ask her to put on a t-shirt for any future videos that get posted here. Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: Solinus on June 10, 2012, 05:05:21 AM Points to you my friend. Awesome video. She looks very happy with it. Just out of curiosity, ask her how it feels in her hands. The grip looks like it might be tough to wrap your hand around because of the black strips. I have smaller hands, and it looks like it might be uncomfortable for me to hold.
Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: Veldryne on June 10, 2012, 05:19:50 AM I'm a smaller guyysekf and I have one. Personally I like it, but this hilt is definately an aquired feel. It takes some getting used to.
Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: JapzLapeno on June 12, 2012, 05:35:33 AM She says they are a little big, but she's used to that kind of hilt because her brother used to have an Anakin/Luke toy store saber, and those are at least as bulky down there as this Graflex. Also, she uses the black parts to dig her fingers into and uses them as a grip. I know that's improper form and whatnot, but it works for her.

Does she plan on doing any dueling? Light or otherwise? Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: Veldryne on June 12, 2012, 04:55:42 PM For me its a very one handed saber, and i find the black grips help for that short moment when im blocking or parrying, they help me find a secure grip quickly that will not shift.
The only thing im not a fan of is the wobble, because the inner part of the saber, and the outer silver part are two seperate pieces, its not a huge wobble, but enough that none of the other guys can use it hehe. Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: JapzLapeno on June 13, 2012, 05:33:26 AM She might duel with me a little. Probably very not heavy. And i noticed the wobble. I was worried the saber was falling apart, but i guess not. That's a relief.
Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: Veldryne on June 13, 2012, 06:12:40 AM Yeah it definately won't. I've dueled pretty heavy with mine already.
Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: Stephen Strange on June 13, 2012, 08:25:49 PM Wicked smile ! :) And a great saber... especially for a first one. Jackpot!
Title: Re: Wife unboxing her first Ultra Saber Post by: Zren Tobas on June 24, 2012, 04:50:47 AM Nice saber. Maybe she will grow on the gold buttons over time and for being a first saber. I thought the Ultra team fixed the loose blade holder problem? Thats what I heard from Deep a few days ago. Like they made a longer retention screw for the bunny ears and main blade holder so its a more snug fit. The Violet Amethyst looks sick on the Graflex too. Point for making your wife happy. :D
