I dont know why this just struck me, but i think it would be epic....if we had ppl in the community good enough at cg.

A community made commercial for ultrasabers....

in costume, everyone in the video has to be using a saber, and we do it like they filmed the geonosis scene in episode 2

everyone gets a 10-15 second clip of them doing freeform in costume, in front of a greenscreen (if possible)

splice it together with cg footage of stormtroopers or battle droids

and at the end a tagline about ultrasabers being THE combat lightsabers :-D

I had thought about doing a small video of me and two friends. Kind of like the opening to a TV show... where they are playing music and show a picture of each cast member with their real name and their character name. Different spots would have the person doing a quick move while the camera circled around them slowly, finally ending in a close up of their head and them smiling. Something cheesy and corny like that.

A full on US commercial made by the community would be so cool. And now that my outfit is on it's way to me, I'd love to do something like this!

i think it would be a lot of fun, especially if its something ultra can use, sort of a community gift to the company for feeding our addictions lol

the only trouble is getting the cg good enough to make it believable, maybe if its easier just use interesting outdoor locations or ruins (like the old monastary here in my hometown) and film choreographed duels to splice together, and then get them rotoscoped afterwards

heh get someone in a vader costume at the end with the voice changer to have a close up and say "everything else is just a toy"

We've got a LOT of talented people here in this community. I am SURE we can find someone who is good with CG.

Or, the interesting locations bit can't be too hard. I am going to be doing some filming on Coronado beach in the next few days or so. There's a spot that I found where the rocks go into the waters. The waves crash into the rocks and the back splash is beautiful.

There's also a secluded area of sand hills and iceplants that I can use as well.

better if the shots were done in daylight as well, and then rotoscoped, so lighting isnt an issue.

Id love to see the choreography we could get out of masters like Nero and Artorius, or Master kane fending off a group with his staff/one hander combination.

I'd stay away from using stormtroopers or battledroids, esp. in any form of advertisement.  That'll get Uncle George's lawyers a-calling...

good point, full costume duels it is then, or even solo freeform and edit in blaster bolts being shot at the jedi/sith in question, and all their strikes block or parry them

I could be the one to do this, after all I have a relatively deep voice plus a Vader costume with a voice amp...
