Title: Saber Spin Tutorial Series: Saber Staff Flourish. Post by: KashiAtaru on June 14, 2012, 03:20:15 PM Allright, I asked some of you if you wanted more tutorials and you do! So, here's a new tutorial for you all. This covers a saber staff flourish, progressing off of the basic spin and Anakin flourish in the previous tutorial. I hope you enjoy it, and give me suggestions on what moves you want to see in tutorial form and I'll see what I can do for you!-Kashi

You did both slow and fast so that beginners could see what was happening and so that more advanced practitioners would not get bored. Enough lighting to see but dark enough to enjoy the lights. Great job.

Thank you for sharing your process of learning with the rest of the community. Also, thank you for posting a demonstration video with enough light that we can see what you're doing! A contrasting colored glove so we get a better view of your hand and wrist would be a bonus. I will now use this as a launching point for a small rant. We all know what a lit saber looks like in the darkness and it can be pretty cool looking. However, for demonstrating technique, whether you are offering suggestions or asking for feedback, please use good light ! Watch KashiAtaru's video, you can see his body move, his shoulders, arms, waist, etc., as opposed to a vague shadow and a swirl of light. These are all very important details for instructional purposes. This process has gotten better, more videos are being presented with better light but my hope is for all instructional based videos to be in full light ! Ok, back to your regularly scheduled discussion. Title: Re: Saber Spin Tutorial Series: Saber Staff Flourish. My next videos will be back at the beach but earlier in the day. :) Title: Re: Saber Spin Tutorial Series: Saber Staff Flourish. Thanks VorNach! Interesting story behind my username: My favorite cereal is Kashi, hence my first name, and my favorite form Ataru, thus my last name. But thanks for using the full name! I like your idea of using a contrasting colored glove. I will need to find a white or light gray one.-Kashi Title: Re: Saber Spin Tutorial Series: Saber Staff Flourish. So new video will take a little longer. My next videos will be back at the beach but earlier in the day. :) Where can I find your videos Solinus? I love to watch others vids more than my own. ;)-Kashi Title: Re: Saber Spin Tutorial Series: Saber Staff Flourish. I live alone and generally spend most of my time alone, so I don't have anyone to help me. My son and daughter usually help, but we haven't had a chance to do anything. But tomorrow morning, my kids and I will be going to the park to practice Master Nonymous' velocities. Title: Re: Saber Spin Tutorial Series: Saber Staff Flourish.
