Title: Color disks
Post by: Eternus on February 25, 2011, 04:17:14 PM
Hey Ultra I know you guys throw in color disks with the Adegan Silver sabers but have you ever thought about putting them on the site for purchase? I would definately pick up a couple sets!

So would I! I'd love to experiment with throwing some discs on my Orange Prophecy. ;D

I'm most interested in trying a red disk on a red led but I'd live to play mix and match!  I have an RGB saber and I'd love to see what I could cme up with!

I'm sure that would make for some interesting creations! Personally, I'm interested in sort of yellow-washing orange to try for a Gold color... though I would play around with just about anything for kicks. Maybe mix everything and make brown! XD

A brown saber is something I've never thought about. That would be cool!

I'm not too sure about that...

Think of it this way, Wingmate. It's probably something nobody else has done. Why? Because brown is a simple, plain color. Not many people are likely to think about having a brown saber, but when somebody sees it they'll be like 'holy crap, I've never seen or thought of that before! That's awesome!' because it's unique. lol

Is brown light even possible?

Anyway, I'd like some color discs just to play with. See what colors I can get from my sabers.

I think the brown would be more of an orange/yellow color actually.  But I'm not sure if you could do a true brown.

If you use more green than red and put in just a little ble I think it may be close. I'm gonna try to make an RGB clolor mixing program in the next few days. It'll only be able to mix color though, not light, so what I come up with may not be doable with a saber. A question for anyone who's tuned an RGB led: are the values set from 1-100 or 1-255? Need to set value parameters.

The trouble with colour disks is that they take away from the brightness of the saber. The more you add, the less light you get. That being said, I have a white LEDed saber, and I tried to get brown only to find that you get a very dim saber lit with a grayish nothing.

However, try it! That's how things are discovered.

Good luck.

I would definitely buy a pack of color discs if available, with and RGB and color discs ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE... except for a black lightsaber, but that's another topic.
