Title: My first two spinning videos. Not sure if any good.
Post by: RogueLieutenant on June 22, 2012, 06:38:03 AM
Hi guys.

I had some free time on my hands so I decided to make some videos in the dark of me spinning my green Overlord.

These are my first two saber videos so... yeah.

I'm not sure if i'm average, good, or lame at spinning. These are just moves that I've been doing ever since I was a little kid with the plastic telescoping lightsabers. Hell I still have about seven of those with me in college. I would watch the movies and teach myself new moves.

So i'm 21 now and this is just a culmination of all of those childhood hours gone into teaching myself lightsaber moves.

So how was that?

Didn't see an edit button so i'll just reply.

Sorry about the camera work. I just set it up on a tripod but it looks like sometimes i'm moving too fast for the camera to pick up. And yes also I do hit myself in the ass once.

And if anyone is curious what I'm saber-locking onto in both videos is a giant taxidermied bison head.

I was killing time at work when I came across your post.  Not bad for first vids.  We have some great masters on this forum that have been kind enough to post instructional videos.  You will most certainly love them.  Major props to you for getting the Overlord.  I like the green color.  Thinking about you clashing with the bison definitely got my attention and drew me in to watch close for when it happened.  Hope you stay around and enjoy the forums.

A good start, the spins look pretty good. Keep it up, try to work in more actual striking (if you have space)

And try to get some daylight videos (im really guilty of taking dark videos myself, but thats more a scheduling issue)

Thanks. I was just bored and it was dark so I figured I'd play with my camera and see what would happen. I might try a daylight video sometime. Or at least not a completely dark one.
