Title: My first Ultrasaber, the Dark Prophecy V3 Post by: Nhylus on July 03, 2012, 11:21:38 AM I have somewhat of a fanbase on YouTube and I figured I'd show them my lightsaber and so I figured "why not post it in reviews on the forums?".
I trip over my words and think faster than I can speak when I get excited.. so some sentence might not make sense? hahah. Also I kinda curse every now and then, so now that I think about it, if you want to see the review go to www.youtube.com/rvsman (http://www.youtube.com/rvsman). The review is titled "A Long Time Ago..." I don't want to post it here incase its too profane. (F-bomb like 3-5 times, I say s*** once I think) If you want to see me just swinging it around like a 5 year old, skip to 7:12 haha. But yeah I'm really happy with the saber. Hilt - 10/10 I really really love this hilt. Its exactly what I imagined a lightsaber would and should feel like as a kid. Not heavy, but has weight. And not fat and chunky like the hasbros. Sound- 9/10 I really love this obsidian sound board. I think that's one of my favorite features. The customization is incredible. Maintenance - 7/10 By maintenance I mean things like getting access to the batteries/soundboard. It's fickle, sometimes its smooth and easy, but sometimes it's very difficult. Blade - 8/10 The blade is very cool, very sturdy. And the UltraEdge does make the blade fuller. I was disappointed it was not as bright as it seems on camera sometimes, but it's still incredible and quite bright. Im going to try a plain old midgrade to compare brightness. Overall- 10/10. A lot of my friends ask if it was worth spending so much on a "toy" or StarWars paraphernalia. And I tell them "absolutely, I have no shame at all." And yes this is my first obsidian saber (also my first saber in general that isnt cheap plastic from a toystore hahah). I did turn it on before charging (and of course instructions say not to and I didnt read til after) but it was only on for about a minute or so. And then I charged them. It could be the blade mixed with SRD. SRD might not fit best with UltraEdge, so I ordered a regular midgrade that should be here by thursday :D. and I may end up liking midgrade better. Im glad to hear that another blade seems to be brighter. Title: Re: My first Ultrasaber, the Dark Prophecy V3 Post by: Big Andy on July 05, 2012, 12:37:08 AM I've got a srd saber and I've used both ultra edge and regular blades in both mid and heavy grades in it and the only real difference that I notice is with the regular blades it has a more green tint to it and with the ultra edge it has a slightly more blue tint to it. Mids are brighter than the heavy's, however it's not by much, and with the heavy's in my opinion the regular blades look better than the ultraedge blades, on the flip side though in my opinion the mid ultraedge looks better than the regular mid. Hope I was of some assistance.

Either way, having two blades is certainly useful.Nice saber. Dark Prophecy has been on my list for a while now. I love the SRD on black hilts too, good choice. I see our taste in sabers is quite similar. I plan to get a bellicose as my next saber with QD so i can have multiple colors. I got my Phantom in SY originally but one was phasing to green so I had them replaced to BR cuz it's awesome. ps. sorry for thread jacking, I know that is Thread Jack's job, not mine. ;) Points for everyone!!
