Hey Veldryne, thanks for the video review. You are right when it comes to the video reviews on the Prophecy's and Dark Prophecy's, great review.

WoW this was EXACTLY what i was looking for! Must be the force at work here...

I received what i found out to be a Liberator, in red but my little problem is tha tit is a tat on the heavy side for me, so i cannot spin with it very well which i really would love to do. The pommel is the heaviest point and for a bit too heavy.. (i have some joint problems in my hands)

The fact that you state multiple times that its light pleases me beyond recognition, because the Prophecy is exactly what i wanted to go for next.

Thanks for this informative reveiw, you helped me ALOT!  8)

(points have been distributed  ;D )

Very informative review.  I do loves me a Prophecy, though I am contemplating the silver version.  I did appreciate the contrast with your other, larger sabers as well.

I've held a Libby v2 and v3 and yeah the v3 is a lot more weighty.

The prophecy handles brilliantly with a mid grade and pretty decent in heavy grade as well.

Hey Vel,

You have a photo close up of your hilt with the pommel?

Thanks

Since I can't edit my own freaking posts. x.x

Also I am mostly a one hand blade user. My worry is the covertec wheel its going to be a literal pain. What's your find on that?

Don't mean to jump in, but I recently acquired this hilt and I love it.  I'm a single hander and I find it to be perfect for that purpose.  I have somewhat large hands so I find it difficult to employ as a two handed hilt, but if you want to use it for that you always have the option of taking the covertec off - it's as easy as unscrewing it with an allen wrench.

xanedan provided me with this pic before i bought mine

i find hte wheel can get in the way a bit when you go for a two handed assist but it really depends on your grip, its an incredibly comfortable saber for one handing though

Thanks, I'm kicking around getting the Dark Prophecy with sound. But I am a one handed person, so the wheel might not be a pain.

Agreed.  I'm a fencer and a Makashi stylist, and this is my current favorite dueling hilt.  Absolutely awesome for single handed wielding.

Sorry Vel if I am doing a bit of thread hijacking here....

So I have my stunt libby, but I am going to be ordering a saber with sound in the few few weeks. And these are the ones I keep kicking around. Again I'm more of a one handed type. (fencer)

Dark Prophecy
Standard Issue Battle Saber
The Monarch

Not a clue on my color pick just yet. But I really like all three of these. But its going to be used with my costume. http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=8593.0 (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=8593.0)

I don't think you'll like the monarch as a one hander. it's pretty meaty. I got one as a raffle prize, and while it's pretty, it's a lot heavier than any of my sabers save my staff. While it is balanced well with a 36" midgrade blade it just feels more awkward as a one handed saber. I feel better using two with it. The bulbous part at the top is a little weird to hold... I don't know, I just remember that a friend of mine say she didn't like it at all because in her words, "it's just hard to hold."

Standard issue is nice but in my opinion doesn't really say Lightsaber without the blade in. It also doesn't really seem like a one handed saber to me... too much length on it.

The Prophecy has all the right things going for it: wonderfully comfortable gripping points, a great length and weight, and such aesthetic beauty it just tells the world, "I'm a lightsaber!"

What length blade do you use Eiyame? if you go with a 32" mid that thing will fly! Anyway, I say Prophecy all the way.

I can see your point with the Monarch. I think my husband is ordering one for himself so I can play with his to see if I like it.

As for the battle saber I like it because it is simple. And I do customize my lightsaber hilts, so it would look like a lightsaber. (honestly the libby looks more like a flashlight than a lighsaber hilt before I painted it) As for the length I wield my libby one handed and its about the same length, and the extra like half inch is in the emitter.

I keep looking at the Prophecy BUT, its the covertec wheel I keep dragging my feet on. I wish they could move it with out leaving a freaking hole in the hilt. (Might email Emory about it and ask if I can order a prophecy with the covertec wheel moved back with out the hole problem)

As for blade length I have a 36" on my libby but it sits 2.5 inches into my hilt so its really a 33.5" blade. I don't know how far the blade sits in the Prophecy though, so I might have to order a shorter blade.

As a whole on my live steel blades I use about a 32" but that's because I need to be able to get the thing out of the scabbard, with out telling the guy I'm going up ageist to hold on a moment while I get my sword out. Lightsaber you just flick the switch and the blade comes out....well if we lived in the Star Wars world that is. lol

Being that I'm 5.4 I have to play the is it short enough for me to use but is it long enough that it looks correct in photos and doesn't look either stupidly long or stupidly short game.

Also keep in mind I'm a fencer and I normally use a pommel heavy rapier that sits at about 3 - 3.5 pounds. So honestly my stunt libby is WAY on the light side for me. But I have to remember I am going to have the soundboard in it with adds an extra bit of weight.

The 32" does give you a nice, light blade for single handed use, though the 36" is fine too (as long as it's midgrade).  The heavy grades are good choices as well, they just add quite a bit more weight to the tip of the saber.

As for hilt, I'd say Prophecy or SI would be good.  I wield them both single handed and it works nicely, although the Prophecy has a little better grip (and more style).  Still, either one will hold up very nicely to dueling or anything else.

For color, considering your costume, I'd actually say Adegan Silver (if that color interests you at all) or Violet Amethyst.  Guardian Blue would be nice too.

I love the look of the prophecy, I'm just again worried about where the covertec wheel sits.  And I love the SI because its simple.

This characters jedi mater (my other OC) uses a violet amethyst and a silver blade. So those are two colors I will need to get at some point in time.

Not much of a blue fan...

But I already have a Bane's Heart so I need something that is going to go good with that.
