Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Darth Dau Kho on July 30, 2012, 01:59:23 PM That looks so much different!
Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Vex on July 30, 2012, 02:40:02 PM NICE!
Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: LordBane10 on July 30, 2012, 03:51:26 PM Nice. If Ultra Sabers did a Dark Archon themselves I'd get one. :P
Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: CZ3RO on July 30, 2012, 03:52:07 PM YAY! I have been wishing Ultra would offer one like that - glad to see it looks as good in real life as it did in my head. :)
Now if only it were an option on the site instead of having to go to the hardware store. ;) Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: darth tratus on July 30, 2012, 04:16:53 PM Very cool idea! Looks great!
Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Kham-Ryn Kurios on July 30, 2012, 04:52:47 PM I dig it, that looks like Evil Dark Empire Luke's saber.
It would look sick in red. Point. Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Faa-Yal Dragu on July 30, 2012, 05:54:01 PM epic! if i get an archon, that would be the way to go...
Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: jmPlagueis on July 30, 2012, 10:02:40 PM That's damn near perfect, Vel!
I might have done a slightly different scheme on the emitter, but I really like the way you did it. Its nice to see some concept sabers once in a while :) Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Abraxus on July 31, 2012, 01:32:09 AM Very nice. I have only gone as far as adding some black O-Rings to my Archon V2, just to add a few extra highlights to it. You sir, have taken it to the next dark level! Bravo!

Its nice to see some concept sabers once in a while :) I wanted to keep the retention screw hole clean so I did it this way instead. Really happy with how it's turned out. Thanks for the feedback guys Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: jmPlagueis on July 31, 2012, 02:07:57 AM I wanted to keep the retention screw hole clean so I did it this way instead. Post by: Darth Nonymous on July 31, 2012, 02:11:28 AM very nice. what color?
Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Veldryne on July 31, 2012, 03:14:53 AM Adegan silver, if I can get it to work
I got the soundboard working, but can't get the damn led to light Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: BlackHawk on July 31, 2012, 08:13:35 PM Very cool...

Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Veldryne on August 01, 2012, 03:11:31 PM its a graflex style emitter from tcss, i wish ultra had a graflex emitter with the bunny ears instead, i totally would have bought that to use for the build instead, thankfully everything else is there is ultrasabers, cept for the rubber grip.
Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Deep on August 01, 2012, 11:34:33 PM Adegan silver, if I can get it to work I got the soundboard working, but can't get the damn led to light How much power are you sending to the soundboard/LED? Also, how are you regulating the current to the LED? Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Veldryne on August 02, 2012, 12:05:11 AM I was using the buck puck. It's no big deal I'll get it figured out. Like you said in the email, I probably blew the led.
Regardless I'm really happy with how the hilt turned out. I blame my not doing any electronics work in the last 10 years for the foul up. I got my soundboard working though lol. Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Deep on August 02, 2012, 12:33:54 AM Just a heads up, if you are only using 3.7V, you may not be providing enough power for both the soundboard and the LED depending on how it's been wired.
Or the LED may have been blown ;) Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Veldryne on August 02, 2012, 12:45:22 AM Well I'm running the 2 trust fires in the standard battery/speaker pack. On a novasound 3.0 dark I got on eBay ridiculously cheap. That andiys got a couple near effects.
One theory is that the board wasn't letting enough power through. It has settings for dirrerent types of LEDs. And let's you change the brightness on 5 different levels. So I'm going to try that as well. See if I get anything on higher settings. Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Then forget everything I said before, I have no idea how that board works, nor what the power requirements are. Good luck getting it up and running. Title: Re: Dark Archon anyone? Post by: Veldryne on August 02, 2012, 01:30:52 AM Lol it's okay, next one will be obsidian. Pretty sure I just did something dumb and blew the led.
Actually I should say next one with sound will be obsidian lol. Gonnna make some stunts soon out of PVC I think, SRAMs kinda inspired me. Edit: just played around with it a bit using some alligator clips I made up to test connections. Still nothing. So yeah pretty sure it's a blown led. I'm not worried, live and learn. |
