Title: New MHS Lightsaber Post by: Jaarna on August 05, 2012, 04:09:55 PM So yeah, this is my new lightsaber. I have really wanted an orange bladed one eince the beginning so I'm super happy with this one! It has the Obsidian soundboard in it. Going to choose my sound settings soon :)

I recognize the emitter, and a noticed the charging port. All that with Obsidian sound....very nice!

The length of the hilt makes it good for a one or two-handed grip. The pommel looks long enough to act as a good resonance chamber for the Obsidian board, which I think is important for it to ensure that its sound is as good as can be. I like the choke point near the top. I would think that the grenade grip there would be good if doing a single-handed grip at that point as the grooves would allow sweat to wick away from the had. The smooth grip near the bottom would worry me - I would prefer to have something like the DWG's grooves there, for extra grip near the pommel, but that's me. Yeah it's modelled after Satele's, it's a new MHS one from TCSS. I have fairly small hands for a guy I think so this hilt is easy to hold! It works great as a one-hander and gripping it from the "grenade" grip is actually really confortable and great for control. I'm glad you like it, I love it! I need to put in a retension screw and it's ready for duelling! I always use the Obsidian, I much prefer it and it seems so much easier to wire than other soundboards my friends have used. That's not a charge port, though it does look like it on this picture, it's a momentary switch. I love the small and almost-plain look about it. I notice on the MHS builder (i like playing with that a lot) there are two of those, is one windowed and the other just grooved? I don't see any difference in them. The windowed would certainly be my pic. are they just for different diameter blades...?

I checked and found I nearly ordered the grooved one and I just had to have it windowed, it really is a nice touch to a saber :) I love it :D
