Anyone hitting Toronto Fan Expo in a few weeks?  I'll be there on the Saturday (Aug 25).

If so lemme know, or just look for the Sith with the yellow saber and come say hi.  :D

Crap. I'm heading down to Toronto on the 30th (I'm in Ottawa), so it looks like I'll be just barely missing out. Ah well, one day...

Ok if Fan Expo is coming up, what was the one in April?
Just looking at the list of guests I want to go. lol But I won't be able to find someone to work for me on Fridays and Saturdays.

Yup, it's a Nintendo Zapper alright - I'll take some pics on the weekend and post in here in the costume section.  To be super nerdy for a second, the character I created doesn't have Force lightning ability so still keeps a blaster at his side.

The one in April is "Wizard World, Toronto Comic Con", it's a mid-sized con and really comics-focused (like bins and bins of back-issues, not as much merch or non-comic related stuff).

Fan Expo is the big one for Toronto; it's comics, sci-fi, anime, gaming and the Rue Morgue Festival of Fear (horror expo).

Ok cool, I went to their site and poked around. I'm off on Sundays so I might make it down for that day. For a Saturday off I need a months notice or more.

i actually have the same one and i was thinking of making it look more like a blaster also. now my little guy and i just run around the house shooting at each other using the zapper and a big pump action nerf gun. i may go to lowes and pick up some paint and some pvc to make a scope. i look foward to see some closeups of your pistol when you get a chance so i can get some ideas. thanks

how much were those contacts? and are they powered?

$70 for the pair, and yeah, they have a prescription in them.  I got mine from clearlycontacts.ca - it's a Canadian site; but they're actually called "Darth" contacts, so Google can show you lots of other places to grab them.  :)
