Title: Cool photo effects with my Overlord
Post by: Moldculture on August 25, 2012, 02:43:17 AM
I know I don't post on here too often but I thought you guys might like this (I hope it actually loads)...
This is the results of my photographer friend's (drunken) experiments. I left the FoC on for a couple & it made this interesting stripe effect.

This effect is really cool! I've seen it around the forums before, may I ask how it is done?

I'm interested to know as well. I've been trying to find that setting on my camera as well. I think it has to do with speeding up or slowing down the exposure speed?

I'm not the expert, just the guy with saber, but I pretty sure it's just a long exposure & tweaking a few settings. He was using a higher-end Nikon too...

I forget which way you adjust the shutter speed but you simply activate your saber's lock up function and flourish while someone snaps some rapid photos of it.  Def need a higher end camera to do it though.  I did that with Sunrider's Destiny with Fire Orange Flash on Clash.  Looked like a pin wheel when it was recorded.  Nice job showcasing your Overlord.  Liking the color and the saber.  Point to you.

You can actually get that effect by lowering the shutter speed.  I used this approach to get pics like these:

(Oops, hit send by accident.) ...just kind of trying to make broad sweeps & spinning motions.
There's several more good shots from this set but he's only sent me that one so far.

Awesome!  I love that you can tell it's a windowed emitter.  :)
