Title: Question about the RGB LEDs
Post by: SirHenryMF on January 03, 2011, 09:45:56 AM
So this is a 2 part question. First part: Are the LEDs that are being used for SRD and VA the same LEDs used for RGB sabers just with different wiring?

Second part: So I played around with rewiring my SRD LED and turned it into a VA even though the color didn't look proper right away. So I was wondering would it be possible for me to mimic the yellow found on the RGB sabers doing the same trick? And if so, is there a specific wiring pattern? My experiment lent me a really reddish orange at one point and a very light green, that was almost yellow.

1. Yes, same LED, different wiring.
2. Yes, you can get yellow by doing the same thing, but the tuning is tricky.  You can easily make the color too green, or too orange, so some experimentation with the proper resistors might be in order.

So if I was to put in the order SRD or VA, can I request in the comments for you to tune it to yellow for me?
