When the Shock LE first came out, I was like "Aww man!", because its gold anodized emitter would have been just perfect for my Shaak Ti cosplay- her saber has that bit of gold at the business end. I had just ordered a plain shock in guardian blue not that long ago, and couldn't justify another saber, just for the emitter.

However, I came up with another cosplay idea, for which the new Shock would be perfect. I want to do personifications of some of NYC's skyscrapers, most notably the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings. And the Shock LE with its gold-and-silver coloring, and almost art-deco looks would be perfect! Who says only Jedi or Sith get all the cool toys, huh?
But one question remained- color. I wanted a nice golden yellow, but was concerned about the brightness of the seoul P4s. So I contacted Ultra and Deep, who said that they could make me a yellow, just like the red+green setting on my Bane. It cost a bit extra, because what I did was select one of the RGB colors (SRD, Arctic Blue, or Violet), and write in my order notes that I wanted Yellow made with the rgb instead.
So I went ahead and placed the order. Probably two weeks later, that saber was in my hot little hand. And holy heck, it was SO worth waiting for!

The hilt looks just like the regular Shock, but the pommel has two grooves machined into it, which the regular Shock doesn't. Also, the finish is different. Instead of the brushed satin finish of the standard Shock, this one is almost a mirror polish. And the gold anodizing is a rich, deep gold

Overall, the hilt is gorgeous! Ultra should do a few more sabers with this gold colored anodizing, it's beautiful!

And here's the part you're all curious about- the blade!
I asked for a custom RGB yellow, and chose an ultra edge blade for my saber.

I should put completely fresh batteries (right out of the package) into this and see how it looks, since I've heard reports that some of the batteries which come with the sabers aren't always at full power.
But even with the batteries it came with, it's nice and bright, and the yellow is beautiful. Now, up close you can see that it's made from the red and green dies of the RGB LED, because from some angles, the yellow at bottom few inches of the blade will show a bit of green, and from others, a red-orange tinge. That doesn't bother me at all, it actually looks kinda cool.

So overall, I would give the hilt top marks, and the color is a winner too. This may well be the "Sentinel Yellow" people have been begging for!
Somehow, I'm not sure how red might look in this particular saber, but I suspect that SRD, violet, or Arctic blue might look sweet, or even silver.

And my prayers may have just been answered.

And by the way, yes, get those batteries out of your saber. My son's was indeed brighter with real batteries, and they had corroded his pack. Not a big deal, Ultra Sabers is on top of it, but better safe than sorry I think.

Yellow.  Very tasteful.  That yellow should be a standard color IMO.  Full marks for going yellow for you LE shock, good Amanita.  EXCELLENTLY DONE EMORY AND DEEP!!

That saber really does look good with the yellow. Although with the low batteries it looks gold, which is cool.

I like this yellow color, if they start offering it I may need to buy another saber!

Now try and tell me they don't go together, lol! Seriously, the silver and deep gold coloring of this saber looks like it would be right at home in there!

Yellow!  It's amazing!  It's so... Yellow!  I have a feeling that Ultra's going to get several more custom orders for this color in the near future.

Also, I like the mirror polish on the hilt, but I know that I'd personally be afraid of scratching it.

I love my Shock LE too...very nice finish and very ergonomical and I can see what you mean about it fitting in with the Art Deco motifs of the  ESB...hmmm Empire State Building...Empire Strikes Back...works out nicely eh?

Sentinel Yellow has been the one primary KOTOR colour that Ultra hasn't offered heretofore...I hope the success of this will change that.

That yellow is sooooooooooo sweet. Can't wait till they offer it as a standard cause i really want a Standard Issue in yellow to go with my green one.

If at all possible, I would love to see a comparison shot of the yellow next to an orange as I'm sure others would as well. When I was deciding what saber I wanted as my second to go along with my orange I was considering silver with a yellow disc, but this looks much better than any pictures I've seen of the disc. Seems like it'd make a cool staff or just an interesting dual wield pair up, the jedi who walks along the gray path :)

I don't have a seoul P4 fire orange to compare it to, I only have the pyrestone orange that they were making for a while, when they were out of the P4s. The pyrestone is a wicked color, I wish they would offer it again as a standard choice, along with sentinal yellow

After seeing this I might get a yellow Initiate for dual wielding purposes...

I wanna say that if you are gonna replace the batteries anyway, don't order any batteries with it! You can save a buck or so and throwing away batteries is bad for the enviroment. I'm not a real green freak, but still.

Nice  ;) I feel this would make a great representation for what Bastila Shan's lightsaber must have looked like (I know she used a Staff primarily, but I bet she had a single bladed hilt around there somewhere  ;) )

Bastila had a single in the scene where Revan was confronted.

That is True, my biggest complaint of KOTOR was the lightsabers, they were so plane, KOTOR II made a slight improvement, but not by much......

I had some mods, that could give you different hilt designs(nothing too special, but less plain). I don't know where they went though...
