Force Unleashed 3

Probably been asked a million times but, does anyone think that we'll ever see a Force Unleashed 3? If not, what about a Dynasty Warriors style 3rd person slash'em up? Surely Jedi/Sith are perfect for that kind of thing, and I think the various high end consoles are rather crying out for it!

Any positive thoughts? (I'm well aware of the many negatives) lol

With LucasArts being shutdown, we will never know how far, or if at all, they were into developing TFU3. Its possible EA may pick it back up. I would like to finish Galen's story. We can only hope and wait my friend!

I'm a bit in shock really, mainly at how out of touch I am! I didn't even realise that Lucasarts HAD shut down! What's going on with GL? He sells Star Wars to Disney, and Lucasarts goes out of business, meaning that EA takes control of future gaming output. Has the man lost the moisture farm on a bad game of Sabacc or something? lol

LucasArts is now operating entirely as a licensing entity, much like they were before they tried to develop TFU2.  A great many of the Star Wars games people love were developed by studios exterior to LA.
Having said that, unless someone delivers a phenomenal pitch for TFU3, and backs it up with an equally phenomenal playable mock-up, there's very little chance in my mind that it will happen.  TFU2 was an absolute bomb of a game.  It was so bad that they re-released TFU1 with additional content to wash the taste out of everyone's mouths.

The fortunes of Lucasarts aside, I STILL need to get the Ultimate Sith Edition of TFU1. Maybe they should do a rejig of TFU2 and actually make it a good, LONG game to play?

To be totally honest, I don't think TFU2 has any hope for that at all. :\ I paid four dollars for it on Steam, and I feel like I utterly wasted four dollars.  This is coming from a dude who buys those stupidly-expensive meal bars with some regularity, so that should say something.  Like the fact that I waste money.
 

I actually did enjoy the first game, but the second was just terrible in every way -- there was no attachment to the character, he's mentally tortured for no legitimate reason, and he more or less just does things.  This says nothing of the whole Jar'Kai reverse grip thing, which was done because "holy crap two is better than one, so two lightsabers must be better than one also."  There's zero reason behind it, other than "it looks cool and it works in video game logic, why do you care?"
As far as I'm concerned, Galen Marek's story, as well as that of any incarnation of him, ended with the first game.  It was a good ending for him; I was satisfied with it.

I agree. I HATE how he is so attached to Juno, and how he'll do ANYTHING to have her/save her/whatever. It makes him SUCH an easy target for Vader. In fact, the ONLY satisfying part is where he takes the bad ending and tries to kill vader, only to be slain by a clone of himself, wearing very Vader-esque garbs.

That's the most interesting part of the game.

As for Galen in that game, he's actually WORSE than Anakin; and God knows, THAT is saying something.

I have to disagree. My only complaint of TFU2 was its length. It was incredibly short and only had mild replay value. Story was pretty decent. I dont think anyone can make Anakin look better (in terms of awkwardness goes). I thought his love was very sincere/distraught. The actor, whom Galen is designed off of and played by, is incredibly talented.

Actor's talent cannot make up for poor writing in all cases.  I do really like the guy that plays Marek, but let's be honest -- to draw a parallel to the original statement of this post, if you hand Michael Caine a crappy script, there's only so much he can do with it.

Sam Witwer does a great job with what he has to work with, and is fairly pleasing on the eye too

But seriously, Clone Galen comes across as a REAL bunny boiler and how he could be considered a Jedi or light side at any point in the game is beyond me.

I would have preferred if he'd embraced the dark side and sought revenge against Vader at all costs. That would have at least made sense, and been less cringe worthy than his "undying love for Juno" *vomits*

I also think that, having passed through the game once, the different endings should have unlocked new content, especially on the Dark Clone side. To leave it with the Dark Galen flying away in his ship to do "who knows what" is weak.....WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT HE'S GONNA DO!!!!!

Well they already did a "what if" Sith edition for TFU1. You killed Luke Skywalker and a bunch of other rebel heroes. If youre looking for an alternative universe kind of thing and havent played it, I recommend it.

In my personal opinion, FU1 was pretty cool, but a little too short. The 2nd one is way too short with a crappy story. (Only thing worth it is to punt ewoks!)

I want to see a FU3 with a NEW op protagonist, maybe following the footsteps of Galen after the 1st game or someone either from before TPMor after ROTJ. I want to see a long, kingdom Hearts style story and gameplay. I want total combat style choice (single, dual, or staff; no reverse grip) and light saber customization. I want better light/dark side choice consequences and endings. I just want a better experience and something to truly call Force Unleashed!

For those of you who don't feel like reading the entire interview, here's part of the quote about TFU3

"The Force Unleashed series is extraordinarily viable. It did very, very well. We also have that third part of the story that Haden Blackman and I have talked about that's really wonderful. I think that you could see us round back to it and finish it up, but it would obviously be for the next generation of console systems, certainly not this one. And it would have to be after Episode VII."

I'm really hoping for a TFU3.  I'm also really looking forward to the new Battlefront.

But

I'm not an EA fan for anything other than sports lately.  their games have really gone downhill trying to cater to "everyone."
