My brother and I are costumers with The Galactic Knights, I costume my SWTOR Sith Warrior and my brother is finishing a SWTOR era Jedi Shadow. In the game Jedi Shadow commonly use double bladed sabers in green, so that's what he's been working on using a couple of Ultrasabers War Glaive emitters, some V cut ribbed extensions and one of US's adjustable vented couplers. It's really starting to look the part, especially as he has been adding a "bone effect" grip and detail. The one problem we are having is how it'll be carried when not lit. Without the blades in it is 23"/58cm long, too long - we think - to hang from a belt without it swinging wildly when moving. We are training for choreographed duels at events - his Shadow against my Warrior - and he needs to be able to remove his robe in order to be able to fight cleanly. So, we are open to suggestions on how this beast would be carried - as costumers with a professional quality club, it has to look good. As yet we've not found any clues as to how Maul carried his (we suspect they cheated during filming and if he didn't need to hold it then he didn't have it on him) So, over to you guys.

If I were you, I would have a shoulder harness with a plate in the middle of the back. Kind of like this: Mount a modified covertech clip on the plate or some such thing and situate the hilt running down the spine. If he can easily reach the middle of his back, he can draw it.

some kind of mount on the back was going to be my first suggestion. And probably the best to keep it out of the way. Dunno how this will work with your brother's costume.
my second suggestion is some kind of holster strapped to his leg like they do longer weapons. length wise this could still be a problem though.

My suggestion is only a practical choice, though I'm not sure how well the visual aesthetic would be.
Have two covertec clips on both sides of your waist, and have both halves have a covertec wheel. When it's time to duel for a show or pose for a picture; unhook the two halves, place them together, and twist to connect them.
Similar to how General Krell had two dual-bladed lightsabers that when sitting on his waist looked like four sabers, you can virtually do the same.

This would be more ideal IMO as well. I think if you use one of the flush, adjustable couplers and find a way to fasten the screw for it in place on the one side so that the other side could just be screwed into it, you could where them separately on either side with each side of the coupler acting as the pommels of the sabers.

Agreed, that is what I was going for.

I would think you would have trouble tightening it in this case wouldn't you? The ridges that lock it together in a position would prevent it just being screwed together I would think as it is designed to be oriented and then fastened.

I like the idea of the back harness but my robes will get in the way of that, which is a shame because I think that'll look really good.
The leg harness on the other hand might work. I'll have to create something to see if it does work.

welcome! I'd suggest running a mock up with some scrap or cheap fabric first. Nothing lost that way if it doesnt work
