Despite my picture, Light Side points have my thanks.

I will fully admit, the first time (and every time after really) I watched the trailer for Episode VII, I got goosebumps something fierce when our new villain ignited his weapon. Took me back to how I felt seeing Maul's double bladed saber all those years ago.
However, back then I was the learner, now I am the master.
Sort of haha.

I just got my new Initate v4 a couple of weeks ago (which deserves a whole review to itself honestly, it has an ED which is glorious),and I had been brain storming about how I could create a shroud or something to house some small blades plus LEDs, I couldn't think of a way to though.
That is until Christmas; my dad surprised me with a set of emergency LED glow sticks, and suddenly my imaginings could become reality.
Of course I still had to come up with a decent shroud, or something; everything I was looking at would make my emitter more than bulky, and I didn't want anything permanent either; it needed to be able to come off and on whenever I pleased.
So "something" started looking more plausible than a shroud. I finally found myself wandering and brainstorming through the hardware store, and I came up with a clever solution. It may not be the most elegant, but it is effective and looks quite nice when lit.

My solution was two copper 3/4 inch pipe sections to house the small blades, cut to fit into the blade vents on the Initate, as well as openings in both for the pipe clasp, which holds it all together. The mini blades are attached inside the copper pipes by hot glue, and everything was spray painted black. (I plan on detailing it further at a later date)

Here's a quick video as well, it is such a treat to wield.

it came off looking like the video. i'm still not sold on that design though. from having actually fought with a crossguard. admittedly a wooden sword. for many years i can say that having your crossguard made of something lethal. not smart. i have had bruises from the cross bashing into me
