Who watches the watchmen?

I just picked up this blue V4 on craigslist and, since it is blue, and blue is not usually my color, I decided to use it to experiment. I had never done a sewn leather wrap before though I had done cords. This was my first attempt. A bit of leather, some O rings, and some blue vinyl, and I am much happier with the design of this saber.

That looks really nice and clean.  What did you use to sew the leather together ?  Will be interesting to see how well you spin with the Aeon v4.  +1.   Smiley

I used a blue waxed twine. I bought it at a garage sale for 75 cents, which made it 25 cents more expensive than the leather scrap.

Looks great Darth Cephalus +1 (although I think you should be Master Cephalus with all you have taught me  Wink) . . . I too would like to hear your opinion of spinning an Aeon v4...... Smiley

As requested. I put together this video to demonstrate. It actually spins well but not like I would have guessed. The rubber O rings on the top ridges below the emitter make a nice point of rotation as you see in the first few seconds. Overall, it is well balanced and fun to spin. The only complaint is the light-ish pommel that makes the saber a bit top-heavy. That is not a problem unless you try a contact roll, which I did in the video and nearly dropped it. Also testing a blue color bump on the cheesy video editing software I use to add music.

Light Side points please!

I've got the darkside version of this saber (But I weathered it and got Consular Green, so it looks lightside-ish). Personally I think it's one of the better sabers for spinning and fighting. I like the way the choke points fit into my hand, I put a wrapped leather grip on each ring area and a bigger one on the first choke point of mine, and it works great for battle. It's also fun to switch between front and backhand midfight.
