I'm just now getting into this hobby. My girlfriend and I are dressing up for the premier of episode VII so we made prop sabers from the hardware store. My friend and I are both fencers and huge star wars fans so we want to get dueling sabers. I saw an adapter on tcss just for putting a blade on a sink drain but they seem to be perpetually out of stock. Is there a part from US, or any other solution to my problem in general?

I'm afraid that US don't sell anything like that, so far as I am aware. Depending on how thick the walls of your hilt are, you might consider drilling holes to put retention screws in, or drilling right through the hilt and blade so you can put a pin or clip through from one side to the other to hold it in place.
