So, there I was, minding my own business cycling home from the office, using the 9 mile commute to ponder the mysteries of the force when it hit me. A flash of inspiration so wonderful and brilliant I managed to beat my time home by 4 mins!
May 2016, I will be attending MCM Comic-con in London, a three day event that runs from Friday to Sunday. I will be going for two days, as a Sith. This will be my first time cosplaying at an event and I have been enjoying sketching ideas for my costume, but I was well aware that I may need a second costume (unless I wanted to be Stinky McNasty and wear the same costume two days in a row).
I may be new to cosplaying, but the geek in me is well aware of the need for the costume to be unique, if possible, and accurately reflect the loves and creativity of the wearer.
I love all things geek : Star Wars, Star Trek, sci-fi, victorian gothic horror, comics and many more besides. For years I have been interested in doing a victorian gothic/steampunk version of one of the genres. As my mind was contemplating new sketch ideas for the pieces i am going to eventually order from Twin Rose, I realised that I already had all the elements at home for a full costume. don't you just love it when something like that happens!
So, without further ado, I give you Darth Quill - the Steampunk Sith.
PS - please excuse the saber. I bought it just after the Revenge of the Sith was released, but needed something to make the pic more believable. It is more for display purposes, and will shortly be replaced with a Dominix V4.
