Im looking at making a "nagamaki" style sword.  A Malice to start with, 40' blade and 2 yari extentions.

What do you guys think the balance would be like? I do want to duel with my buddy that just got his own UxS.  I dont want to duel weild or use a staff. I want my Sith weapon to be unique and built for powerful hits from the outside.

Thanks

Look around you. At the horrors, at the blood shed. If there is a god he looks a lot like me.

I'm not overly familiar with that style of sword (I just Googled it) but, according to my math - a Malice, 40" blade & 2 pike extensions together would total ~ 80 inches.

Maybe I just don't understand but I have no idea how anyone could comfortably wield something almost 7 ft. long as a sword.

Based on what I saw online - I would consider just 1 pike extension and a 32" blade.

Winning? Is that what you think it's about? I'm not trying to win. I'm not doing this because I want to beat someone, or because I hate someone, or because I want to blame someone. It's not because it's fun. God knows it's not because it's easy. It's not even because it works, because it hardly ever does. I do what I do because it's right! Because it's decent! And above all, it's kind! It's just that. Just kind.

Well its not really meant to be used in a traditional manner as a sword. The length implied it was used as a anti-cavalry weapon. I looked it up and that was indeed its use. Sooo... I can see dismounting speeder bike riders all day long! Smiley

Oh you mean the type of katana with the longer type handle and blade? Yeah I would say one yari and 32 inch blade for that

oo oo oo

I've doen something similar

v4 dominix with the standard length blade and 2 yari extentions

use it like some sort of glaive/pole arm and it is awesome, people just can't get near me whilst I jab and sweep with the blade and should anyone get close I can shorten my grip and use the haft to block then strike with the blade
