Guardian with emerald & ob v4 was my first saber, & I see you got nickle shroud also Smiley
Wife took pics of me with it after unboxing (have to find them in her non existant file system)
It still outshines my next few sabers, though I now use it with darkside purple/red colors. Its just too stylish for a jedi weapon with the nickle plate & evil pommel  Tongue
Nice pics & review. Will have to redo my review as its more like my impression of gollum / beevis & butthead lol

Hey guys,

So I bought my first Ultrasaber’s lightsaber two weeks ago and at first I was worried about how good it was really going to be once I received it. I did much research into it and both watched and read many many reviews of the saber I wanted and many others and as far as I could see, they were perfect! And the more I looked the more eager I was for my saber to arrive. I checked the tracking several times each day until it arrived and I can honestly tell you that I was not disappointed. I live in Australia and I had my saber in hand 7 days after I made the purchase! I was expecting my lightsaber to arrive in 3-4 weeks but it came in a single week and that’s including a weekend! Shipping was extraordinarily fast and that alone blew my mind…then I unboxed my lightsaber and was amazed! The quality and craftsmanship is astonishing and very well put together. It proved to be everything I had hoped and more! Prior to ordering, the Ultrasabers team was extremely helpful and answered every single question I had and I bombarded them like every day, but they remained polite, friendly and helpful even after I got my saber, so I feel customer service is superb and that alone made me feel very secure in my purchase and I can guarantee I’ll be buying again soon..infact ive already planned my next purchase for my birthday next year in April!

Anyway, I wanted to post pictures of my lightsaber but I can’t figure out how too. I have a drop box account that I just made but im completely lost, but once I figure it out, ill post up pics here. 
In the meantime here are the specs and my review…

COVERTEC CLIP: yes

Before I get to my review, I want to talk a little bit about why I chose the Guardian. First and foremost, I have loved star wars since I was a child and have been lightsaber duelling since then also. I chose the guardian because it is a replica of Obi wan kenobi’s lightsaber from episodes 1 and 2 and is my childhood favourite and the opportunity to get a lightsaber this real and strong that won’t break on you so quickly was irresistible to me.

The Guardian is beautiful and masterfully made. It is very durable and sturdy and even though the emitter is not MHS compatible, I believe this makes it even more durable and tough (not that a saber that is MHS compatible is any less durable). The pommel is MHS compatible which in itself is an awesome feature to any Ultrasabers lightsaber. The nickel plated finish, the 4 windows on the emitter, the black anodised grip and other details along with the red button and gold and red jewelled décor only add to the beauty of the design. The Guardian also comes standard with the covertec wheel which is great!

The Guardian with the blade installed is a little heavy, coming at around 1.5kg’s (I loosely based this on the weight of the entire package when I received it) so it can be a little tiring using it after a while but personally I feel that it adds to the realism and find that it doesn’t really bother me. I would recommend wielding it with two hands when duelling but you can still spin it and do all kinds of moves once you get used to it. Also I suggest keeping in mind that because of the weight you could swing it a little harder than intended so though that really isn’t much of an issue, you don’t want to accidently hurt your opponent any more than lightsaber duelling accidents already occur. Battle armor is always a good idea in my opinion. I chose the UltraEdge heavy grade blade for that extra security and peace of mind that it won’t just break easily but I’ve heard that even the mid-grade blade is quite tough so it’s really up to you. Keep in mind that the heavy grade blade does add that extra bit of weight to the lightsaber. I was concerned with the brightness of the blade because Ultrasabers said that heavy grade will make the blade a little dimmer but honestly it’s still very bright and the UltraEdge aspect does indeed ensure the blade looks fuller.

The hilt itself is 13” long and 1.5” in diameter from memory. The hilt initially looks long and I was worried about the size of my blade, but I feel that the 36” blade and overall length is perfect. The lightsaber also feels very well balanced. I heard that some people found that it could be a little hard to grip the Guardian but I can’t say that I feel the same way; I practically fit my hand almost all the way around the hilt and feel very comfortable holding it with one or both hands.  I also heard that some users found that the AV switch would make a noise when swinging and at first I didn’t have that issue but to my shame I accidently dropped my lightsaber on concrete and noticed that the switch was a little loose after that, but from what I’ve read, it’s an easy fix and a minor one at that. As a result to dropping my Guardian I was very pleased to find that I had to really look for any damage and only found a very tiny dent on the corner of one of the square things on the pommel (if that makes any sense) I had to look over it several times before I even noticed it. In addition, the emitter has a very small scratch that is even less noticeable, so trust me this thing is very very durable and won’t break easy. Either way, it is bound to gain scratches and the like from duelling which only makes it look more awesome and film like. If damage like mine were to really bother you, you could easily replace the pommel.

The Obsidian V4 sound is very loud and clear which is excellent, though I have noticed that does vary to a degree depending on the sound font, but even so, it’s still very loud. The launcher is very user friendly and I already put the starkiller sound font on my sound board which is really awesome and it’s also great having 8 choices to choose from on the lightsaber itself. I increased the sensitivity of the motions and impact which is great because I felt that out of the box, the sounds could be a little unresponsive but now  I feel it works perfectly!

However, I did freak out a little because when I first tried to take the USB cable out of the USB slot on the lightsaber’s sound board, it was rather tight and the entire board unstuck and shifted briefly, but that seemed to fix itself as it went back into place, but I was worried I damaged it. Thankfully all is good. Either way I advise anyone to be careful when inserting and removing the cable from the sound board so nothing does happen by accident. Charging the lightsaber is very quick once you remove the batteries. The first time charging the Li-ion batteries seemed to take the longest, about 2 ½hrs but lately it’s only taken about half the time. Removing the batteries can be a little difficult at first but once you do it a few times its easy. I push down towards the spring and then pull the batteries out which seems the easiest without using something to pry them out as I’ve seen in some other reviews but if you would rather not have to do that and you are happy to spend that bit more, you can always get a recharge port.

I had said no to the retention wrench at first but now I regret that because I thought that one of my wrenches would have worked, but was wrong, so I would recommend just getting the wrench from the start. Either way, Customer support told me that the Guardian needs a 9/64 hex wrench, so if you don’t have one already, that’s what you will need to take the blade off.

Anyway, I hope that my review will help anyone looking to buy the Guardian somehow or simply shed some light on any questions that might be on some one’s mind. Overall, I love my Guardian lightsaber and I’m one super happy customer! I can’t wait for my next purchase because its absolutely worth it and I’m not afraid of breaking them in duels. 

So thank you to the entire Ultrasabers team, you guys have done an excellent job and have been great every step of the way. You have Five stars coming from me! Cheesy

If anyone has any questions or anything at all feel free to ask away. 

Great review!  Good example for others to follow... like me, when I review my Electrum Wind coming soon.  Can't wait to review everything about it.

I missed this post when it got here...congrats on your Guardian, I hope you enjoy it. I really love mine, I was lucky enough to win it on the last raffle. Although is a heavy saber, it's still very comfortable to handle, and you do feel the power with it, its a heavy hitter. +1 for you...
