It's a chunky thing, I got red with a red lighted blade, i was hesitant on getting red on red but i figured since your hand is covering half the hilt
with the blade lit you won't notice too much and also the red light might be further reinforced by having a red handle.
Without the blade in the hilt/handle will look good by itself.
Also it will look good with black gloves against the red handle.
This one comes with the optional extra of the claw which makes it just right to slide down the side of my wide belt, weight lifting belt.
[there is a ten centimeter long gap between the fitted blade and claw which allows it to fit on the belt as a full Saber. i'm still thinking about how I can sling something over my shoulder so
I can have the full blade on my back like a sword.
The claw also serves as a little protection to the blade in battle.
With the sound board it produces a nice throaty saber sound, I don't have a clue about downloading sounds.
The handle is long and there is ample room for two meaty hands to grab hold.
Its very well made.
My only doubts about this sabre is the weight for me is a bit heavy so my arms might get tired sooner since i'm an old goat,  my wife complains that I should grow up, they don't understand
that life begins at 40 so that makes me a teenager.
anyway...
some of the design elements i found a bit inconsistent, like the top cut outs slots going one way and then the other, I would have made them narrower but more of them.
The rims added to grip but i would have liked to have seen a bit of design flare to make it look less like a torch.
If given the option of several designs for the end pommel spiky thing
i would have probably not gone for the industrial look.
The end piece definitely dulls the sound so I will probably look at options there.
I haven't worked out where the batteries are and it didn't come with instructions only go look at our website.
Comes with the little wheel which is apparently for carrying on your belt, why? if it cost extra for the clip, just give me the clip too.
What they need to do is design a handle, trigger and frame so the saber hilt can become a blaster and slide in and out, two weapons in one.
Took about 3 weeks from manufacture in USA to Brisbane Australia and I was very pleased with the tracking and delivery
and customer service got back to me quick.
Not bad overall, about 7 1/2 out of 10.
Is it worth a couple hundred dollars more than a plastic toy one, you better believe it.
Looks cool and sounds cool.
You just want to swing it around and break things
.
Will I buy another one? well, maybe. [don't tell the wife] There are a couple of nice designs there and I think if they iron out a few other things like loose batteries I heard on another review,
also I will probably go for a shorter blade and lighter handle.
and something with elvinish lord of the rings carved script, one light saber to rule them all. huh.
Now I have to find someone else with one so I can practice hitting, after I get a costume, can't decide if i'm a jedi or a sith.

well I found the utube video for the batteries
and I have downloaded the USB software to install sounds,
not that I think I will really be changing the sound, its pretty good as is.
Emery need to think about a better set up for the battery change, just hitting it and letting the battery
pack fall out will always run the risk of hurting the wiring...I think.
A really good light saber. i'm happy.

Hey ya dougaussie!

Great review.

The Scorpion is a beauty saber.  They are hefty I hear though.

It's a Sith hilt, and a Sith blade colour all day, so I've given you a DS point.  May it forever rule your destiny.  (cookies/bacon) Smiley

Oh no...are you asking me?

Well, I absolutely love my dark Catalyst.  A dream to wield and spin.  There's a light version.

The Prophecys are supposed to be amazing for single hand, and I've just ordered one. Smiley

And the Initiate/Apprentices are really good for single hand. Smiley

I want a Consular...lol

thanks for those suggestions, that dark catalyst is a good looking sabre, I especially like the top where the blade fits.

further review note:
the Crimson is definitely a two handed job,
its a monster, if you have skinny little hands with weak wrists don't get this one.
I find the claw, tips the weight from the centre towards the blade, and my blade is a 32" heavy duty, so the longer blades would make it even more unbalanced
and a shorter blade I don't think would look as good.
So your naturally carrying this sabre with its nose pointed down and with two hands,
also the pommel with the little pointy bits looks good but will stick you in the inside arm half way between your elbow and wrist,
its not a big thing but I think they would not allow a smoother motion? maybe.
The claw is really handy for carrying but especially sliding the full sabre into belt, wider the better but I find my weight lifting belt is a little too thick to quickly remove the saber.

My Manticore is a bit of a beast as well.  Still a gorgeous specimen. Smiley
I got it solely based on looks though, and didn't consider wielding it.

For a first saber, a Scorpion would likely feel about the same.  A smaller, lighter hilt is best to start with.
I'm loving the Catalyst for spinning around, but for looks a Scorpion kills it. Smiley

if you go into battle against a scorpion don't be intimidated, or a heavy duty lightsaber,
let the heavier lightsaber move first cause he will be a microsecond slower in attack and recovery,
yep. and you can dance around him till he tires out and falls over from exhaustion swinging that thing.
The advantage of a heavy lightsaber is he can smash that toy in your hand out of the park
or beat you into submission.

If you are a heavier guy with medium to large hands I would go for a larger heavier saber,
theres just no advantage in having a light one in battle. in my opinion.
