Im toying with the idea of a nagamaki style light saber. So having either one or two pike extensions added to my hilt. The idea is to have a great sword with superior leverage and reach. A pound it home type of sword rather than finese.

I picked up the Sentinel LE V4, and it feels pretty massive in my opinion.
I could easily fit three hands on it at the same time.

Here's the Dominix LE v4, with no extension or anything it's still quite the lengthy hilt. Even more so with the 36" blade!

With a 15" hilt.  I really like the way this handles, actually.

There's a saber with coupler and a single Yari Extension:



This handles pretty well, and I think is most like a Nagamaki, to be honest, of the setups I have.  But compared to a historical Nagamaki, it's way too big.  I could bring the handle into size by switching out the coupler for a standard, no sound, MHS coupler.  The blade is way too long, about 33" when it ought to be more like 24ish.  Handles well, and contrary to the concept you talk about, takes finesse to use well.

Then, I mocked up a double Yari Extension as well as I could with bits from my empty Flamberge hilt:



At this point, I have to say that I'd just as soon add another extension to make it three plus a hilt and 28-32" blade, for a proper polearm saber.  This in-between length just doesn't seem right, neither one thing nor the other, and lacking the best features of each.

I have a yari extended staff and a long saber. Both of these are things I use for contact moves where the saber has to roll along my body or around my neck.

Just got my yari and I have to say I am more than impressed. Everything feels right about it, and with my 36 inch blade and the natural legnth of the war glaive it makes for a excellent spear.

I only have a silver coupler because I had just enough credit for that once,since it was the cheapest, but all the prices fit very nice and smooth.  The only hindrance is the covertech  wheel, my hand keeps landing on it but not to the point of it being a "real issue". My next saber will be without a wheel so I'll have a very smooth hilt

Three extensions gives me a TON of permutations.  With one extension you have more of a nagamaki type weapon, with two it becomes almost like a naginata.  Three makes it a bit hefty but you get SO much reach out of it... I really can't recommend these extensions enough.  They're simple, versatile, and really rather inexpensive, but they add a ton of possibilities to dueling.

Wow, those are some GREAT pics guys and I am very appreciative. I was strongly leaning towards a Malice with a few thoughts of the Dark warglaive but damn that glaive looks good.
I am doing a marvel comics Sabretooth-like Sith and I think the DWG would really represent his claws well. Id add the one pike extension as well. damn that looks good!

Silver Claws might make it pop a bit more, it is completely a mace with one yari, which would fit sabertooth, really cool idea man.

My dwg is named Sauron,  so it being a mace now,while off, fits with his given name

I've been toying with the idea of putting a pike handle on my Dark Menace, and then the Malice emitter on the end as a pommel to use as an axe-head.

that would be pretty awesome, im thinking of getting an emitter and a short blade for my javelin. im glad  that im not the only one considering just throwing an emitter on. i wish there were some low class cheaper ones

It's a Dark Prophecy with the two side blade emitter "necks", and the pommel, from a Flamberge V2.
