My brother is working on a custom saber and needs help with resistors and wiring. The words following this sentence are my brother's words.

I have a MHS speaker and 4x AAA battery pack combo, a Luxeon Rebel Star (Amber) running at 700mA, and a 16mm Anti Vandal Momentary Yellow Dot Switch running at 20mA. What resistors/buckpucks should I use? How should I go about wiring them?

please respond quickly. all information will be useful.

     Thank you for your information.

For starters, LEDcalc.com is the best place to calculate resistances.  I would use the Single LED function at the site.

As for your setup, I would run the LED as one circuit and the Switch LED as a second circuit.  I am not where I can draw you a schematic so this is the best I can do.

Battery POS to switch.  Switch to LED POS.  LED NEG to Resistor to Battery NEG.  Circuit one completed.

Battery POS to Switch LED POS.  Switch LED NEG to Resistor to Battery NEG.  Circuit two completed.

My circuits will have your switch LED illuminated at all times.  If this will not work, let me know.

Tell him to go slow and think about every action he takes.  He needs to work slowly and test every step of the way.  I also have a video diary of a lightsaber I converted that may be of some use.

Always think of electricity flowing through wires like water through a pipe.  Helps me to visualize where I want something to go.
