Its because I had my macro setting on. Only the shutter speed option seems to work at night.

Great shooting. I thought you had a small fire there!  I was thinking manual exposure and tripod use might be the only way I'm going to be able to capture my saber on camera for what it is. I'll start with your idea first though! |

These are probably some of the nicest pics you've posted thus far Zren. Nice work!
You seem to be having a bit of trouble with blurriness though, you might want to look into a good tripod and/or remote shutter release. The remote can eliminate even the slight vibration caused by pressing the shutter button yourself, which can ruin a good long exposure shot.

I like to use the camera myself. The automatic mode sucks for pictures like this. I usually just use the shutter speed options for saber pics. Gets the color in more. So if you have a camera with the dial thing, choose shutter speed, then have the macro put on.
