I think I currently agree with the video. Snoke is Snoke (previously I thought Snoke is Darth Plagueis), an ancient lurker waiting for the old Empire to crumble with Palpatine, for Snoke was not powerful enough to destroy Palpatine. But he is now nonetheless the most powerful Dark Side user alive, as Palpatine is dead.
His face reminds me of a giant tortoise though.
