I have been looking into dueling gloves and I was curious about what others are using. I have heard that some are using hockey gloves but I have started using these and will be using these with my campers as it doesnt hinder movement that much but are also still pretty awesome. The Damascus crt 100 riot gloves, Carbon-Tek Fiber Knuckles and injection molded and all sorts of other goodies.

they also have the 300s if you want a more sithy feel

I think these are pretty great. Other ideas are welcomed.

the black suede gloves will provide a certain amount of grip, however they will not protect your digits from getting smashed into next week.

For any kind of combative application we have found that Lacrosse and Street hockey gloves provide the best protection while not limiting flexibility and control. One of the best types gloves we've found are children's street hockey gloves.

An important element to keep in mind, aside from providing protection to your knuckles and wrist, a good protective glove will cover your finger tips even when your hand is curled around the saber hilt. Some padded gloves do not overlap the fingertip when the hand is curled.

For appearance purposes there are some street hockey gloves that are somewhat streamlined and look pretty high-tech armor-ish.

The Damascus gloves look very nice but don't cover your finger tips or the fingers in between the knuckles and there is little, if any, padding on the thumb. They also do not have any significant coverage on the wrists. I think they would make excellent costume  gloves and would probably be great for choreography work

Did you have a brand of gloves that worked best? My low end is 9 year olds, so what size range do you think might work best?

WE use the 10 inch for most kids under 12 and they work great. We are in our second year of camps and i still use them.

They are available at most sporting goods stores.

Hi there from Australia Grin

Who needs gloves when you have a light saber?  Shocked

A thoroughly entertaining video; I have no association with these guys but could not stop watching or laughing!

I use the Mechanix M-Pact 3 gloves, plus soft wrist bands (tennis type) and some finger sleeves on the most exposed digits (blade hand index and middle finger, in my experience). With this setup I have dueled extensively for a year and a half, without any harm, despite many blows taken in the hands. However, we only use very flexible blades. If you duel with heavies, I recommend something with more protection on the fingers.
