I recently put in an order for a Jedi Tunic, Undertunic, Obi, and Tabards in alternating shades of dark grey and black. I wanted my "character" to be more of a "grey jedi" - I'm one of the nicest people you'd meet with high moral standards, I just find the politics of the Jedi order frivolous and believe that they sometimes get too caught up in semantics rather than simply doing whats right (hence Revan, the Exile, countless others fed up with inaction, etc.). That and I dislike the tan/brown color scheme - it may be a petty excuse, but hey, I gotta wear this thing.  I still need to find a good belt and shoes. I already have a good idea of how I'm going to take care of the belt. Do y'all have any suggestions in regards to alternatives to boots? I read through the recent thread in which finding boots was discussed, but I am more interested in finding a unique (and cheaper) alternative. I've seen cosplays of Starkiller in which they wrap their feet/shoes to calves with duct tape, an idea I might utilize. Do y'all have any other suggestions? Additionally, I would like to augment the outfit with something else, but I'm not exactly sure what. I'm not exactly partial to masks. Shoulder pauldrons have crossed my mind, as have the use of vambraces or gauntlets (although in all seriousness, what is a bit of leather or metal going to do against a blaster bolt or saber strike? I digress...). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a picture of the tunic with obi and tabards that I based my order on so y'all can get a good idea of what might accent it well (minus the robe and boots in the picture). I know the model in the picture is female and I'm male, but it was just an idea to build upon.

You can't take the sky from me....

The sky is the limit really. There are plenty of options, especially if you hit the expanded universe. You could go for the armoured shin guards look, or as you said some form of wrap and there are all kinds of armour pieces, decorations, masks/ headwear. Layering always helps to build up your costume.

My Jedi is from SWTOR so I've got huge inspiration to draw from and I wear shoulder armour and bracers and both my robes are fairly fancy with stripes. Hubby wears large gloves, armoured boots with shin guards and armour around his neck (the proper name for it completely eludes me) and a cape rather than the normal robe for his Sith, and I'm sure once I make his SWTOR Jedi he will have some form of armour. If you want to keep true to the movies you are a bit more limited.

Costume shops sell "spats" that cover the top of your shoe and up to your knee (I wear a set of Steampunk spats for my jedi costume) that spruce up the look of regular shoes/sneakers, although I wear them over military issue boots.

Gloves and arm wraps/gauntlets and vambraces make nice accent pieces as well.

I'm eyeballing a really nice set of leather pauldrons and neckguard to add as armor to my jedi costume as well.

I also have spats for my starkiller costume that I commissioned from a shop on etsy to wear with some ankle-high boots.

I like the idea for gauntlets/cam races as well. I think, with the color scheme of your costume, that some small to medium size metal-accented vambraces would look quite nice.

Have you considered Roman sandals? The wife considered this but she needs ankle support. This is an example - you can find more variations and options googling roman sandals or gladiator sandals:

Mask world also has some interesting boots but I cannot speak for the quality over time:

And in the thread I started the motorcycle touring boots suggesting may be what we go with.

Demonia makes some really wicked boots that have a more aggressive look to them you might like. I have several pair I wear onstage performing with my band. You could also consider punk-inspired arm warmers as well to add another layer to your wardrobe.
