Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums so first just want to say hi to everyone!  I'm new to the hobby and just got my first saber, the Dark War Glaive.  This post isnt so much a review, more of a question about the Obsidian sound.

First I should say that unfortunately my saber had some problems and needed to be sent back for repairs, so it could be that the problem I'm having is related.  Basically what Im wondering is how loud is everyone's sound?  Before I bought the saber, I read on many posts that these are loud, and many on youtube expressed the same thing.  Mine is not loud at all, actually its very quiet.  I'm not sure how to compare it, but I can tell you that my cell phone speaker is way louder, so the obsidian volume is pretty disappointing in that respect.  If this is the way its supposed to be, have any of you tried to upgrade the speaker?  I'm hoping mine was just defective and will come back from repairs much louder.  Thanks everyone!

I would think it's related to your problem, because Obsidian sound is really rather loud.  I have the original version of the Obsidian board, and mine is pretty deafening.  I believe you can alter the sound settings when you hook it up to your computer though.

It must be related to the problems I was having then, just the use of the word "deafening" tells me that theres no way mine is right haha.  Mine can barely be heard.  If you put your ear right up to the pommel then it sounds ok, but when you hold it at your side you can barely hear it.  I'm actually very glad to hear you say this, makes me think when mine comes back from repairs it should sound very different.  Thanks!

Yeah that does sound odd.  When I say deafening I basically mean when you hold it up to your ear it's uncomfortably loud, and at your side it's just loud enough.  IMO it's a really ideal level of volume.

hmmm yeah if I put my ear right up to it it sounds about like it should at my side, but not deafening.  I have a feeling when I get it back from repairs it will sound very different.  Thanks for the quick response and the insight I really appreciate it Smiley
