Hey all,

Apologies for a little bit of a crosspost! I've been trying to research this on my own in the forum, but have gotten kinda confused.

1) I saw in some older posts (4-5 years ago) that the Obsidian v3 board only takes lsu files. Is this still the case?
2) In some posts more recent than ^, I've also seen it said that the v4 *launcher* will take wav files, but these wave files need to be 48kHz/16bit PCM. But, some of the newer free sound fonts posted to the forum are 48kHz/32bit float. If I'm able to use the v4 launcher to put wav files onto my v3 soundboard, do they need to be 16bit, or can they be 32 bit?

Thank you!

It can take .wav files. They have to be mono. If you open it in Audacity or some other audio program and see that the only freeware that works with .lsu files is that Ultrasabers launcher itself. So if you have double wavelengths consilidate them in Audacity or some Media program and export as .wav. Next program is called 'Mediahuman Audio Converter.' Configure the Output preference to export as WAV and select the next pane over. This it were you can specify your file to be mono, not stereo. Set to 48000Hz. You can do that in Audacity if you want to but you can tell from Output Preferences to do it as well. I will Include pictures:

So you see, it's basic click and drop.

There are literally dozens of programs you can use.

All too easy.

i used goldwave software for my audio files.  i discovered the correct setting after creating files and trying to load them in the UltraSabers launcher (they were not recognized or would not play - can't recall which).  trial and error, anyway.
great instructions by MercuryKungFu using freeware!
