Okay, someone who's name I unfortunately forgot requested pics of my DL-44 build earlier. There are older pics buried deep in the forum someplace from a couple seasons ago, but the thing has undergone repairs a couple times since then, and a recent paint job has given her a much needed facelift and final touch. She is now and forever, the 'Manroon Special' Custom DL-44.
BUILD DETAILS:
She's based on a full metal airsoft mauser spring pistol that I gutted and converted to a DL-44 Blast Tech Heavy Blaster Pistol. The flash suppressor came from an old 70s or 80s toy, specifically either a GI Joe Base (for small figs) or a Star Wars Micro set (the old die cast figs that were discontinued before ROTJ came out), so that's one of the things that makes this pistol stand out in a crowd. She also has her scope mounted on the left, because I'm right handed and that seemed more natural to me. To be honest though, I like to shoot from the hip and front sight my shots anyways. lol The scope and selector switch are actually salvaged from the mauser's internals, which makes them unique as well since most people use the ESB or ROTJ style parts for these conversions. That's all well and good if you want a 'standard' DL, but I wanted a custom and I was working on a budget, so this is what I did and I love it.

The funny wire and socket thing beneath the front end of the scope is actually something I salvaged from the headset in an old Jet Helmet I have. It just sort of worked, so on it went.

The pistons are there as they really are a non-negotiable standard part for any DL. I went with copper on them because I had it and I liked the look when I tested it. Gave it flare. I elected to forgo the front vents though, as I just didn't want to spend the money on one tiny part. I may add them later, or come up with a replacement option for them elsewhere on the mag-well. As for the paint job.... it speaks for itself.

So, what do you all think? Like my unofficial variant of the Nova Crest?
