ok, so im sure most of you saw my emitter windows i drilled into my saber, tempest, which was then named Jetfire.
now i have finished my customisation on this saber, it has its final name: Serenity.

first, i found some red oak coloured insulation tape, which went on:

then on went a D-ring. raspberries to covertec, original films for the win. a little drill and tap:

then i ordered a green seoul p4 from ebay. wired it in and i was done.

have you ever had that feeling when you pick up your saber and you realise it is no longer one you ordered from an epic company mass produced, it is now yours? i got that feeling when i finished. also realising that over the course of a few months, the LED,  the battery pack, switch and resistor have all been changed to accomidate your needs, you did all the re-wiring, so you have just finished building your own saber. now i really feel like a jedi knight, and i couldn't be happier with the result. i didn't plan it this way at all, but the force guided me here...

How does the tape feel, grip-wise?  I would think that the material wouldn't allow for the palm of the hand to breathe properly...

i actually grip round the switch, there is no tape there, and my left hand is not always on the saber - i use both one handed and two, my right hand is used to grip the saber all the time.

That is an epic transformation Faa-Yal.  Glad that you are enjoying your new saber and I love the name Serenity.  Also goes to prove that the most expensive sabers are not always our favorite sabers.  Now you have a signature saber that you can call your own and Ultrasabers allowed a door to be open for your transformation to be complete.  Have a point.

I love what you've done with that emitter, and the enitre saber for that matter! It really has that exotic Star Warsy feel to it!

It looks sweet. It just feels great when you've made something your own. I gotta go off on a slight tangent here, I love ultrasabers but what I love even more is taking an ultrasaber and making it my own unique weapon. You get a point.
