Quick Disconnect and battery question

Hey everybody I have a question about quick disconnect, if I have a AAA 4 pack battery pack and I swap my Guardian Blue out for a  Blazing Red LED will the 4 AAA burn out the LED? I ask because a Blazing Red comes with a tw pack AAA. Or am I good?

Hmm... good question.  I would think not, because the Red would probably have resistors on it, but you never know.  I was told that the Red "will pop once it reaches 6v", which I ASSUME meant that as long as it's just short of 6, it won't burn out on you.  Emphasis on ASSUME.  I don't know any of this for sure.

Hmmm.....my Blazing Red runs on 4 AAAs. So, I would guess it must be all right. Not positive though.

I know the SRD that I have runs on 4 AAA's so it should be fine not sure about VA though.

Well guess my next two colors will be VA and SRD, dont want to burn out a red LED so gonna play it safe til I get word from Ultra.

Red LED'S WILL pop at anything over 3.3-3.7 V (fwd voltage is 2.2). You will need to resistor the red dependding on your battery solution.

hmmm, then how is an RGB with no sound set up?  I know they have 4 AAAs and you can have only the red on.  Also, does that mean that if you get a red MLS unit and an RGB color (VA, AB, SRD) the quick disconnect doesn't really help you because you'd have to wire in (or remove) a resistor?

No, you can setup an RGB with a QD and the resistor is non removable...easy peasey.

Ok so I emailed Deep and he told me my DWG already has a resistor installed on the battery back so Im good for red!!

So what you're saying is that your War Glave has QD and you were concerned that while 4 AAAs would power most other MLS units it would blow out the red MLS. So you emailed Deep and he said it's fine because there's a resistor that'll protect the red LED? I wonder if the resistor will affect the visual appearance or luminocity of the other colored MLS units? Or affect the sound quality of the soundboard?

Because there is a resistor already on the battery pack, it will work fine with red or any other color we offer.
