I'm actually starting to prefer non canon colors on my sabers. Sure, I love me some blue and green, but I've been doing a lot of cyan (Sunrider's Destiny) and orange lately. There are just so many colors that were wiped out by George Lucas insisting that all of the Jedi except Mace Windu have blue or green in Attack of the Clones. This, unfortunately, cut out a lot of great blade colors, like orange. There are canon Jedi who were supposed to wield orange sabers, such as Yaddle.

Now, Yaddle wasn't included in AOTC, she was replaced by Shaak Ti, but she's one of the TPM Jedi Masters who (supposedly) wielded a saber that wasn't blue or green.

Another character that wielded Orange in the books was Adi Gallia. Siri Tachi wielded a pinkish-purple too. We do see silver, light-blue and lime-green in TCW and Rebels though. An argument could also be made for SRD in ANH when Luke is practicing aboard the Falcon.

Hers was red in the Episode 1 BTS stuff. Her Episode 1 action figure also wielded red, as did the character in the games Jedi Power Battles and Jedi Stafighter. But, you know, "bad guy color," so they changed it to blue in AOTC.

Nope, we're both right. It's been depicted as both red and orange. Just as Plo Koon had yellow, and in some cases orange. Of course, both got blue in the movies.

I think I would've liked to see Plo with a yellow saber in the movies. That would have been interesting.

I never understood that myself, it would of been cool to see the different colored lightsabers other than blue and green throughout AOTC and ROFS especially for a Jedi Master like Plo.

I'm not sure what I'm more impressed by, his editing work or his entire collection. I'll choose both.

That would be George Lucas. He's the one who insisted all Jedi have blue and green. Samuel L. Jackson had to practically beg for a purple blade, and even he wasn't sure if it really happened until he watched the movie. The 2D animated Clone Wars series tried to justify the decision and show how rare the crystals were by having a cave with crystals growing destroyed. Though, that still doesn't explain AOTC, as that series takes place after that movie.
