I have a question about the blade retention screw wrench. Is it needed for anything? or does it just make it easier to remove the blade retention screws?

YES! You need the wrench! Every saber is held in place by a retention screw at the emitter. You need the wrench in order to tighten the screw or loosen it in order to switch blades and so forth. The wrench itself is an Allen wrench. They are a little different than your Phillips and Flat Head screwdriver. I personally love allen wrenches. They are a lot smaller and with sabers, they are a little better. In my own opinion. Walmart sells the screw sets for about 6 dollars each, in a nice handy little device than can fit inside a Jedi/Sith pouch. They come in metric and standard. The hole used to screw the wrench in is what is the difference between meetric and standard, while the hole itself drilled into the saber is probably different. If you dont have the allen wrench sets and just have one saber, you are fine with the allen wrench that US provides.

Well that stinks because I just ordered 2 sabers without the wrench. My first 2.  Sad

Which ones did you order? I can probably tell you which ones they need. Not the end of the world, you can pick up the wrenches at a supermarket or hardware store. Did it ship yet? If not, try to get a hold of them before they ship it out to end them to the package.

Hm, I have two Aeons and I believe they use standard type Allen wrenches. I can find out the exact measurement when I get home from work for you. Just give me a few hours.

That would be great but all I need to know is that I need a standard issue allen wrench. (I think). Are standards all the same size?

The screws that you need an Allen wrench for is just like any other screw. It depends on what you got. I think all the Aeons are the same, so you need a 5/64 Allen wrench. My standard issue for instance uses a 3/32. Now, if I wanted to, I could switch the standard issue one with the same hole dimension where the screw goes for a 5/64. Get it?

You could always get one of those pocket allen wrenches which have more than one size on them. That thing is glorious to have for field-stripping a paintball gun, and I'm sure it be handy for everything else Smiley It fits in your pocket great and has multiple sizes.
