Sorry Netro. That was totally a typo. It should have read (and it's NOT an option on the conversion options screen) My bad.

A custom job ehh?? Well that just means more pennies must be saved. A job worth doing is worth doing right the first time. Thanks for your assistance.

Slater, what's balance like now that it's been converted?  I have the same saber (in it's original form) and the weighting of the hilt vs the blade makes it feel like I'm waving it around underwater (or something, I dunno if that makes sense).  I can't imagine dueling with the factory Force FX, but to be honest I haven't really given it any good swings, I'm scared to bust the LEDs.

Does it handle really differently now that it's been converted?

Is this the version with the better sounding soundboards?

@CZ3RO: Wow, I didn't realize this thread was still alive. I posted this review a while back, but it's good to see that people still have interest in the movie hilts. To answer your question though, CZ3RO, I don't notice much of a difference between the Force FX blades and the regular UltraEdge blade that I use on this saber. I'm guessing you'd noticed a difference if you put a heavy grade on it, but with either the mid-grade or the Ultraedge mid-grade, it feels the same to me. Don't know if that helps you or not, but that's been my experience with it.

@DarthCantus: The soundboard is the basic stock Hasbro soundboard from 2007. Trust me, if and when Ultrasabers starts doing Obsidian soundboard installs on the movie hilts, this bad boy is getting sent right back to them for the job.

No I meant the removable blade versions. The boards on those sabers sounds alot better now and more realistic. Pretty good for a prop saber. If Ultra gets the Kit Fisto conversion service in I am eventually going to get a Fisto saber and send it in.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Nope, it's the older Hasbro soundboard, circa 2007 I believe.

The Kit Fisto hilt is pretty neat.  At the current time though, Ultrasabers does not offer conversions for removable blade sabers.  Perhaps in the future this will change, though.

@Darth Slater - Very cool saber. That has always been my favorite hilt design, without a doubt. Cool review, sigh... Makes it very hard to make up my mind for my next US purchase. Could you do me a favor and post the dimensions of the saber? I'd like to compare those to my Prophecy and my Bellicose. It would be much appreciated.

@Darth Gekido: Hey there. Sorry I didn't see your response until just now. I don't have the dimensions at the moment, but what I will do later tonight is measure it and maybe take a few shots of it next to the Guardian, Archon v2 and Consular. Those sabers probably don't help you, but I hear the Bellicose and the Consular are pretty similar in size (I think). Any way, I have a busy slate of things today, but later tonight, I should be able to help you out. And glad you like the review. The Anakin hilt is my favorite design of the bunch (even over the Luke ANH and Luke ESB variations). I just feel the Anakin has a clearer look to it than the Luke variations.

Alright, I have your answer for you. The hilt measures between 10.5 and 11 in. in length, depending on what side you are measuring from (the 11 in. side is where the emitter slants forward, while the 10.5 in. side is where the blade holder portion ends. The hilt is about 1.5 in. in width, but about another inch where the activator box is. As for a picture of how it compares to some Ultrasabers in my collection, well, here you go:

Hope that helps.

Do US sell parts to do the conversion yourself instead of sending in the MR saber? Or does anyone have a list of parts to attempt it? I know you can get the LED module and seperate blades on the US site, what else would you need?

Has anyone else tried it?

Hello,

I am quite new in the saber world and i would buy the anakin ROT saber but i don't know really if it is a good choice or not...

First : i read that the saber sometimes cause of the conversion, is quite weak at the end, and when you duelling a part of it can broke. (
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqGmftlVe7Y" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqGmftlVe7Y</a>
). Is it really weak or not this saber because the price is a quite high.

Second : if i want to duelling the better blade to take is the Ultraedge heavy grade or not ? I want to have also a very bright saber.

thank's to help me =)

Honeslty man, I have this saber in it's original condition and it's a gorgeous hilt, the chrome is shiny, the emitter is smooth and sexy like an expensive camera lens.

But it's heavy and hard to hold, with lots of details poking out everywhere.  Also, if I'm not mistaken, the hilt is in two pieces with a plastic cuff connecting the two in the middle?  If that's the case, it doesn't bode well for its overall durability.

I'm tempted to convert mine anyway, just to have a classy belt hanger but I would never duel with it.

If you want a show piece, go for it, but it you want a dueling saber buy a Prophecy instead.  Smiley

I mean, that's just my opinion, there may be other duelers out there who've had great success with this hilt.
