So I've always thought of myself using something a little different than a sword of gun. I like axes/ hatchets (small-ish axes for those who don't know) and want to know if anyone has any idea how to make a lightaxe/ hatchet. First off, if one were to heat up a blade, does it bend and then harden in place when cooled? If so, I know what I'm doing. If not, well, that's why I'm asking the community. I'm thinking of getting an initiate v3 for the handle, and GB, CG, BR, or FO for the blade color.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Wow. That's really thinking outside the box. The first thing that popped into my head were those glow sticks they sell for Halloween. The dollar store by me sold swords and axes. Here is a link to an online seller:  http://allthingsglow.com/proddetail.php?prod=GNO030EA

I'm not sure how durable it would be or even if it could be modified to be attached to a saber but it's a start. Good luck. I guess melting a blade doesn't sound like something that would be too easy, I think you would be better off finding some sheets of acrylic and cutting out the shapes you would need from that. You will still have to find a way to add the reflective film on the inside as well.

Cheers.

if you could get your hands on plenty of Poly C (what lightsaber blades are made of), you could probably figure out a way to shine the LED all the way through the axe blade

The blades US makes, I've noticed, have some flexibility to them. Maybe you could just bend it to the desired shape?

That's what I had in mind, the bending. However if it bends one way, it'll bend another so combat could be a bit sketchy. Still though... This could be an interesting build.

Heating poly-carbonate to shape it is VERY tricky. Bubbles form easily.  Cutting the shape from polycarb sheeting sound promising. I was considering that approach. I've been trying to figure out a way to make a polycarb sword blade to go in the dark omen I just ordered. If I have any successes, I post them.

Ha!

I want one. We should pass this onto Deep as an idea of a future saber design, I'd buy one anodized black with a blazing red axe blade.

The Jedi are simple minded fools who try to avoid there feeling when feelings are the path of true power. The Sith on the other hand are just as foolish in only using anger to fuel there power. To unlock true power one must utilize all of one's emotions.
