Question... say I want that wrist comlink we talked about, but just the plate and not the cuff? I'd kinda like to build it in to something I'm working on.

Here is a bit of a follow up to a previous post. A while back I bought a Jedi belt buckle from Sedsti. I posted pics of the buckle at the time but only recently had time to actually make the belt. Here it is......

All of the leather work is hand made by me. The buckle is non-functional but looks functional and is exactly what I wanted on the belt. I used "Chicago screws" on either side of the buckle that go all of the way through both the outer and inner belts to hold the weight of the buckle and keep it in place. I flipped the screws over so the slotted heads are on the back and now it just looks like rivets.

I also had bought a Jedi comlink from Sedsti and one of the pouches is for that.....

Look at that fit. Damn I'm good  Cheesy.

Anyway, both items look great and really added to my overall project.

I have a few other items coming from Sedsti's store. I will post pictures of them when they come. One is another collaboration between he and I that I am very excited about.

PS: It is not my intention to hy-jack this thread. I just thought it would be nice to show Sedsti's products in action and how they can be employed. I hope he does not mind.

See Sedsti. You should just start making belts dude. Tongue This one would go perfect with my Twin Roses ANH style Jedi set. You seemed to havea blast with the belt so why not? Make it to where you can pick any style pouches. I'd do just regular pouches like what's on Chicago's belt. Nice looking belt by the way dude. =]

Ok, a few other items I received......

The item I mentioned that I had custom made by Sedsti was this.....

It is a Clone Wars Jedi comlink that is attached to the forearm armor. I needed this for my new Rebel Legion costume, (Jedi General, see my other post), and Sedsti helped me out. I asked for a comlink like Obi Wan's and I wanted recessed areas underneath to put magnets for mounting it to my armor. Sedsti did a great job of this and I am very leased with the results. I added a little paint and it is now part of my armor.

I also ordered a few cool blade plugs. Blade plug 21 looks great in my Standard Issue. I like the beveled edge and how it pulls away from the inner wall of the emitter and adds another layer. It makes this plain looking saber awesome. I added some Rub N Buff to make it silver and then clear coated it.

I also ordered blade plug 10. I put this one in my saber with the Shock emitter. It gives it a sort of barrel effect and would look great in this or any flat front, flanged emitter. I dressed this one up the same as the other.

I found the blade plugs to be a bit hard to make stay in the emitter. I understand the reason for the skeleton style to the back end. It is there to cut down on material costs and make these affordable. I discovered a trick to make these a little more solid that I will pass on (I don't think Sedsti will mind). I found that 1/2" schedule 40 PVC fits perfectly inside the blade plug. A 4 foot piece of this stuff is only a few bucks and you only need about 1-2 inches per plug. Once tucked inside, you don't even see it at all.

Finally, I ordered an item I have had my eye on for a long time....the Republic Credit. I debated about this item for a while. Part of me wanted to get it in metal, part of me wanted to get the three piece set in plastic and paint them. I ordered a single credit in metal and I am very glad I did. This is an awesome little item to keep in my pocket at Rebel Legion events and I will have a lot of fun with this (particularly messing with venders, "Do you take Republic Credits?")

All items are fantastic and I am very please with each.  Thanks Sedsti for your wonderful contributions to Star Wars costuming.

The credit is in polished gold steel.

The blade plugs are the strong and flexible plastic.

The comlink is in the detail plastic (very nice stuff, well worth the few extra bucks.)

Hey sedsti, I promise I haven't forgotten the design we were working on  Grin I have been very busy of late and I have been saving away every little dollar I can for upcoming medical expenses. I'm hoping though that very soon I'll be able to organise those shrouds with you Smiley

And Chicago.jedi, very cool and I like your idea! I think I might have to follow suit and get a few republic credits for the same reason, I'm friends with a few of the vendors at the various fairs our RL crew regularly attend and it'd be great fun to offer republic credits  Wink

Do you have a build thread for your general on the RL forums?

@chicago.jedi: Thank you for sharing pics of your products! The armpiece came out great. I have no problem with modification of models to fit your needs, and I think the pipe use is a great idea.

@B1ondeange1: No worries! I still have the prototype file so whenever you are ready to discuss it again I will be here.

@jedi Kai-gon: There are pictures on the product pages for the republic credits in their respective main finishes, but I'm afraid I do not have a pic of one in the normal stainless steel finish if that is what you are asking.

Sure! I'm always up for a new project idea. That is one reason I have been less active lately actually, but I try to check in when I can.

Speaking of new projects...I would like to present the Knurled Switch Cover.

Now you can hide that guarded switch with something that actually looks like it belongs on a saber  Wink  This is perfect for the new release of the Menace as well, seeing as the switch exists in place of one of the knurled thumb screws from the canon design.

Link to product page: http://shpws.me/Ekx6

The model is now in the shop under Beta status at a discounted rate for a trial period, after which the product will go to its regular price. You can buy it now at the lower rate and offer feedback if you wish or wait until the the trial period ends. This was based on the original switch cover, so functionality will be the same, only the design has changed.

(Big thanks to forum member Greywolf for the idea and input)

New Jedi Holocron Model Now Available

Jedi Holocron 3, as the name suggest, is the third design of its series. This model has a more elaborate pattern than its predecessors and more intricate details as well. This model is available in all colors of Strong and Flexible Plastic as well as Full Color Sandstone to showcase its true nature. The polished version of the Strong and Flexible plastics are great for painting your own colors on and for daily handling, while the Full Color Sandstone gives you that beautiful display piece to add to your collection. Either is sure to be a stunning addition.

Jedi Holocron 3 (full color): http://shpws.me/ELVh

I hope you will join me in welcoming this new design to the shop. Keep an eye out for more new models in the near future.

As a side note, I am always up for new ideas or discussing commissioned designs. Feel free to message me if you have something you would like and we can work together on where to go from there. I have been working on more commissions lately, so look for some of them to pop up here soon as well.
