I want to purchase my first grab bag sabers, and was wondering if it was possible to upgrade it with sound and/or other parts later or does it depend on what hilt you receive? I think this is a great way to tinker without screwing up a $300-400 saber. I'm super new in the saber world, but really look forward to constructing my own. I'm sure this will not be my last question.
Yes you can but I would normally just buy another saber instead. It might be because I am UK based, but to send saber back to Ultrasabers will cost $50-$60 each way. I would rather just save up a little extra and then use the postage cost you would have spent to get a new saber with sound. On website it should be clear as to which sabers can take either Obsidian soundboard and / or Emerald driver. Some of older sabers can take one or other due to size limitations. I don't think there is a gb saber that can't be upgraded. pending on postage upgrade is possible then just order a vented pommel in the process.

Hi,
I am a First time buyer, I decided on the Grab Bag to check out the US products. I bought two sabers with 36" blades and Blade Plugs. I ordered them Saturday Nov 7 and received them Wednesday November 11. I had to play with them a while and then look them up on the website.
I bought two hoping for variety and I received:
1 Dominix LE V4 with no windows and a Guardian Blue LED And 1 Dark Sentinel LE V4 with windows and a Blazing Red LED.
I think I'm addicted...

Obi-Juan. You scored some really nice sabers and blade colors. Hope you have a dueling partner. The lightsaber addiction takes hold very quickly and attempting to escape is useless. +1 point for getting the blade plugs. Your sabers' LED housing and people's eyes will thank you for the added protection.  |

I decided to give US a try (i have several sabers from a competitor) and couldn't make up my mind on what i wanted so i ordered a grab bag.
WOW!
Aeon V4 LE in Blazing Red. Its absolutely gorgeous.
Shipping time was amazing.
I am more than pleased with US and you now have a convert.

Hi Sibian and welcome to the Forum. You have scored a really nice gb saber. I rarely get that lucky. Glad that you can appreciate the differences offered from any of " the other guys ". There's room enough for every saber smith's products and especially at this SW revival time. That being said, converts are most welcome. Are you drawn to the light or darker side of the Force ? |

Hi Dauntless! Thanks for the warm welcome. I really am impressed with it. Its an amazing saber. I really like the weight of it and it's really damn bright! Not to mention the Grab bag aspect of it is pretty awesome. ( i love surprises) Light or Dark? I would have to say light side |

The Aeon and Dominix v2 are still part of the grab bags. Both emitter and pommel are not MHS compatible and the hilt diameter is too narrow for either Obsidian sound or Emerald driver. All the other gb can house one or the other and often both upgrades. |

Hey All, I haven't posted my grab bag saber in this thread yet, however it was posted in the thread when I reviewed my Archon V3. I went completely random except for the HG blade and decided to just see what I got. I ended up with a BR Dark Sentinel V4 (with windows). Surprisingly, its rather comfortable for wither one or two handed dueling. Here are the pics:   I definitely think I'm going to be doing some modification to this one, weather it a bit and maybe add some leather. We will see Its kinda fun just to drop a few $$ on a grab bag and see what comes. KDP |

I ordered my first saber last night, it is a grab bag. I ordered a grab bag because I was curious of quality, and could not decide. I plan to use the saber for mock fights and stage combat. I paid extra for the heavy blade, and I am looking forward to receiving the item. Am I expecting it to be functioning like am Obsidian Order hilt and blade? Nope. I just want a silent light up, stunt style saber that I can test for now until I decide which hilt I want to order for my final saber....

Hi all, I purchased a couple sabers and now have some rewards points and was thinking about getting a grab bag. The only concern I had was the totally random hilt part. With a grab bag+blade coming to $70, what's the likelihood of getting a $70 or less valued saber+blade? Seems like everyone has had good luck when it comes to grab bags, but I'd be pretty bummed if I ended up with a slightly blemished base model AEON that I could have picked up for $5 less.
