Summer Raffle 2015 entry and prize saber pics!

OK, here we go!

I am SUPPOSED to be doing house chores today, but that darn Fedex person showed up with a box of new toys, and uh....  well, I...  words go tog.... mmm, shiny.



So, that's the prize winning entry.  A Dark War Glaive, with 4-channel Emerald driver in Emerald Green with Obsidian V3 sound and recharge port.  This is for the wife.  Had Emerald existed at the time of my own saber purchase, I'd have opted for it.  The ability to customize SO much just makes that a solid investment.  No fooling with color gel inserts (gels being the theater term for the colored plastic sheets used to alter light pigments), no QDs - just plug in, tweak, unplug, go.  I do wish they'd had the Silver claws available, as I do think it pops a bit more, but still, just as lovely a design as when I first purchased it.  No Covertec wheel done here, as I've found that a simple D-Ring done through the pommel works just fine.




Next, our raffle prizes.  I went with 2 Shock LEs - there's something about that aluminum and brass/gold combo that speaks to me - both in Violet Amethyst.  The free Covertec ain't bad either.  The color is lovely - a slight difference at the blade tips, with one saber a bit more pink than the other, but this is normal due to variances in LEDs.  Both also have Obsidian sound present (You can get a saber sans sound, but for me, the sound is part of the experience, too).

Why get 2 Shock LEs, you might ask?  Hopefully this answers that question.



That's right, combined to make a staff worthy of Bastila Shan (or whomever her violet staff wielding counterpart might have been).

Wow.  Beautiful sabers.  That DWG looks so mysteriously good in the EG.  Agree that some silver blades ( when in stock ) will make an attractive swap out.  The Shock LE staff looks super.  Am wondering why you added black guarded instead of av switches.  Have you got Obs. v3 or v4 ?  No chores for you today.  Congrats and point.

Well, the AV switches and Obsidian 4 would have added to the cost, and unfortunately, most of the budget went into the entry saber (happy wife, happy life tends to be a mantra of mine).  I did spring for UEHG blades, as I plan to use these blades for some time.

Here is my raffle purchase, a Menace SE in BR.  First impressions is that the body of this saber is outstanding.  And with a 32" blade it might become one of my go to dueling sabers, very whippy.



For my first emerald prize I chose a Consular in RGBA, set to FO.  This was the greatest surprise of the three, and MIGHT become my new favorite.  Maybe my initial expectations weren't high, but having it in hand it is exquisite!  Purposeful, beautiful and mature.  YES!



My second selection is the Chosen One in RGBW, in BR.  Impressions?  Darth Vader perfection!  It's a busy body, but extremely dynamic because of it.  I...just...love it!



And all three together!

Can I ask, comparing the Shock to the Consular, which would you prefer? I know its different for everyone, but either of those is high on my want list, and I'd like your opinion...... cheers

I took some quick pics with my phone, which does not have the best camera.  I am going to take better ones with my real camera when time permits.

I'll start with the saber that won me a grand prize.  It is in AS but my phone cam makes it look blue.


Chosen One CE upgraded with RGBA driver and recharge port.


Obviously a Bellicose, in DVA with QD's.  I did not request a recharge port on this one, but they installed one anyway.  Very cool!
