Hey Everyone! I've been planning to do this for quite some time now. Back in June, I bought a 4-channel Emerald Dark War Glaive with RGBA. I thought it would be more interesting & helpful to do a Color Gallery rather than a Review (though I do plan to write an article on it later this month). I'll post updates on a daily basis and each post will include: - Picture of the DWG in a given blade color - Emerald settings for that color - Thoughts on how that blade color looks on the hilt - 2 suggestions for FOC, one will be a subtle change relative to the blade color and the other will be high contrast. - Emerald settings for the FOC colors So without further adieu, here's the first post: Blazing Red R - 100% G - 0% B - 0% A - 0% Most people consider this to be Sith saber - and without a doubt, Blazing Red gives it an extremely menacing look. For a subtle FOC, I like to use a Reddish Orange similar to a Pyrestone Orange, I believe. R - 100% A - 50% For more contrast, I really like Dark Violet Amethyst. R - 10% B - 100% Speaking of DVA - that will be tomorrow's color.  |

cool . . . +1 Lord C  i'm looking forward to CG . . . and If I could request a future pic in G+A (a lime colour) and B+A (Haz did an "Ice Violet" colour) also pls, I think they would look great on the Dark War Glaive. . . cheers |

Dark Violet Amethyst R - 20% G - 0% B - 100% A - 0% This is one of my favorite colors on the Dark War Glaive. Truth be told, I'm not sure there's any color that doesn't look good on this hilt. I would say that's generally true on most hilts that are predominantly black. The color just seems to always really pop against the black. For a subtle FOC setting, I like to bump the Red up to 33%. It lightens up the purple just enough to spark on impact. For a high contrast FOC setting, my favorite is "Gold". Actually - Gold is one of my favorite FOC colors for just about every blade color; it just looks great with everything. The setting for Gold is . . . R - 100% G - 100% B - 0% A - 100% Yeah - pretty extreme setting, but it looks tremendous. Here's a gif I made of DVA with Gold flash on clash: |

Consular Green R - 0% G - 100% B - 0% A - 0% Green's a great blade color (very bright in person) but for whatever reason it doesn't completely work for me on the DWG. I fully believe any hilt can be used as a Jedi saber but in this case, I think a Blue definitely works better than the Greens. For a subtle FOC, I like to add some Blue; kind of a brighter SRD. G - 100% B - 33% For high contrast - I'm going Gold again (this will be a bit of a running theme). R - 100% G - 100% A - 100% It's important to note - Gold looks a lot warmer in person than it does in the Gif. The camera usually doesn't pick it up. This is actually a pretty good approximation: |
