I would recommend the V3. Now, for the blade length, I would recommend 32". That way if you want to go longer with it you can get a 36" or if you want a shorter blade you can go with 24". The 24" is a bit short if you don't know what to expect, but the 32" should be great I second this. The 32" is a pretty good in between size for just about anyone, and if you find that it's too long you can always cut it down! My gf is 5'2" and it looks appropriate with her.

Hello. I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether or not the pointed tip actually does anything for the saber. Does it make the blade brighter at all or give longer tracers when spinning or is it purely for show?
Thanks Kalam

As far as I know, it's purely for show.

Solinus is right. It's just for show/preference. My brother has one and it's just for looks. He prefers it, but I don't find it makes a difference. Remember though that it WILL take longer for a saber with pointed tip to ship.

And it hurts more if you get stabbed with one on an un-padded portion of your anatomy.

Alright, so hi I'm the elephant in the room here. And I need help picking a blade, for my LE DominixV2 http://www.ultrasabers.com/DominixV2-p/dominixv2le.htm~I am a cosplayer ~I go to cons ~The saber will get get bumped, and dropped during the day, all props do (people will want to hold it and so on) ~I also do cosplay chess (that's live action chess game in costume with weapons) so it will take some beating. So I want my blade to be able to take some punishment with out the fear of breaking. I rather their weapon break before my saber does. ~I do a lot of traveling so it will get tossed in the back of my car ~I know I'm going to end up poking my friends with it, just because I can ~I don't LARP so its not going to be taking heavy hits all the time ~I am 5.4" and I have to carry this all day (12 hours or so) so I need a lighter blade ~I want the Bane's Heart color or the violet (haven't picked yet) Any help would be great. Thanks

Thanks Well, the Mid Grade can take a lot of punishment and is the lighter option, but you can't be TOO hard on it. I don't own any saber in Bane's Heart, but the Violet Amethyst IMO looks better in the standard Mid Grade over the Ultraedge.

Agreed. It is a redder hue and those tend to look their best in the standard (not the Ultra Edge) blades.
Midgrade will stand up to a lot of force, just not full on hard as you can possibly hit something type force. But if you're doing that or someone is trying to do that to you, I think we have left the realm of sanity.
I would also suggest given your height Eiyame, that you go with the 32" blade at the longest. That will be more comfortable for you to wield.
Also, if you're just going to be tossing the hilt around in your car I would avoid getting one of the higher end hilts and go with something in the initiate or aeon/dominix lines. They are sturdy, no-nonsense hilts without the frills that get in the way.

If I am going to hit someone that hard I'm going to pull out my fencing saber and kill their ass with that. (blades are cheaper to replace anyway) or I'll just check them with the hilt. I was planing on going with 1 Aeon and 1 Dominix (am only going to be getting one for PAX) since I am on a money crunch for this. But how would I get a 32" blade on a Dominix hilt? Thanks for your help guys. After I get the information about me I'll ask a few questions for my husband.

You just specify in the comments section of the order that you'd like them to cut the blade down to 32 inches

That would make my life easier since all my live blades have to be between 31-32" or I can't even draw them. I hate being short....sorry "American Woman Average".
Anyway thanks for the help guys, now on to my husband
Same as me (cosplaying and such), but...
6.4" tall is hard on metal blades Even his "light taps" are heavy to me He wants Sunrider's Destiny color
What would be his best blade.

Srd looks great in ultra edge heavy, but gets washed out a bit in daylight.
Though Id say maybe mid so he doesn't overpower you as much

I'm not stupid enough to fight him. I know better. I just can't vouch for anyone else. So I am leaning towards a stronger blade.

the mid grade and heavy grade are both fun but they do feel different. usually i use heavy grade blades because they feel more solid when I duel with them. the mid grades are lighter though so sometimes i like to switch up the feel of my saber and il use those.
while my mid grades have taken everything ive thrown at them so far, they have some bend to them. i dont like using the mid grade against the heavy grade because the mid grade shows a lot of bend against the heavy.
