It looks really good in either one, but I would say probably better in UE. Just personal opinion though.

Hey guys, I know this has been touched on before. Yes I just read this entire forum, but I'm gonna ask it again. I'm looking at sunrider's destiny, however I'm wanting to really show the teal color of it. Is UE or Standard better for this? I've been searching the Web and forum and no one seems to answer that. I've heard it looks too green with the UE. Since pictures or video can't really capture color right hopefully someone can tell me which gives a truer teal color. I know I could just buy two blades but I'm hoping to avoid that as this will be my shoto saber. Thank you for your responses and sorry for asking this question again.

Hi Spizro. My vote is for the UEMG blade. Has both a full warmer colored brighter blade and a clear display of the SRD cyan color. Teal maybe a little more on the bluish side. The cyan I received is a beautiful color. You might be able to request a more blue-teal tint. Would be a good blade to use outside and in dimmer lighting. Also best for photography. More SW movie and modern Jedi like. Just tried with the standard silver foil MG. Slightly duller and narrower shaft of cooler color down blade. Almost lightly grainy textured looking blade. Would look appropriate with a weathered saber or a saber that is meant to look older and worn and even weapon like. It might be helpful to share what saber you are going to be using. Mine is a dark v4 Initiate with windows and AB flash. I would use both blades, but for this saber as it stands, the UE looks the best. With some customization, that could change. Hope this helps.

Well actually I'll be buying it in the same exact setup as you dark initiate v4! And thank you this is by far the best thought out and detailed answer I have received! And sorry, I meant cyan I don't know why I said teal. Alright, looks like it's time to pull the trigger on this new saber! Thanks so much Dauntless!

Oh, people have. My friend made a mockup by just laying some electrical tape over a standard blade and using a while LED.

Just got in my new Saber with the SRD on an Ultra Edge and I have to say the color is absolutely amazing and stunning! So happy I chose this color and thank you Dauntless Seven for the help. I threw on my miggrade blade from my red saber and the Ultra Edge does look much, much better!

I had a Sun Rider's Destiny Dominix V2 LE saber with the Ultra Edge Heavy Grade blade and I liked it in that set up more and more, a friend needed a couple sabers for her kids so I said why not. I kinda do miss that saber though The teal was kind of a cool color. I might get another one soon

I'm currently working out what I want for my first saber and I'm leaning towards a Dark Standard Issue Staff with Adegan Silver and the color disks
I know the post says that Ultra Edge looks great with the base silver. Which blade type is best for it with the color disks?
I'll be buying a set of both mid and heavy grade of whichever I decide to get, so that shouldn't matter too much

depends on personal preference but for a Dark standard issue (I have one in BR) I prefer the regular blade on it over UE for the Blazing red color Unfortunately pictures don't do it much justice it's something you got to see in person but again mostly a personal preference thing here but both are equally strong blades material wise

I'm soon to be getting a saber just need a little information on coloration. I have seen my friends Emerald two color (red and Blue) UEHG in Blue, Purple, Pink and Red.
Here are my opinions ---
Blue: looks amazing very crisp (light fills up the whole blade) Purple: the hue looks much too blue for my taste (light fills up most of the blade but the plastic walls are visible inside) Pink: this color pops out at you and is extremely bright (light fills up the whole blade) Red: looks dim (an inner and outer wall of light/plastic are very visible inside the blade)
After seeing this display I have two questions
1. Will a midgrade brigthen up the red saber and eliminate the two walls of light effect that the UEHG gives it or will this color just always give way to two visible plastic tubes inside regardless of the blade type?
2. How deep of a green is consular green I understand that pictures fail to do the blades justice and a first hand account is best in my opinion!
Thats all thanks so much guys !

I have a MidGrade blade with BR. It is very bright and glows nicely. Emory mentioned to me in an email that the "MidGrade" blades tend to be the brightest as they have a thinner wall than the HG blades. There is also a "silver" sheen to the blade when it's off. Unlike the Ultra Edge blades, which are white in appearance when off. I believe the "Silvery" appearance is due to an application of a reflective film placed in the blade. Personally, I have an UE blade and I'm not as impressed with the luminance or brightness of the color as I am with the MG blade, in my humble opinion. Many attest differently and I believe that results from the lighting in a room where you use it, battery strength and of course, your eyes.

Interesting and helpful. This gives me much more confidence in blazing red now! Also, the lighting for all my observations was in a pitch black room.

In person will I see a plastic tube surrounding the light beam when using a midgrade blade? I plan on using it when it's pitch black out for reference of lighting.

yes but it's not as thick as the Heavy grade and Mid grades are brigther then heavies as there is less tubing wall for the light to pass through. I have both UE and Regular Mid grade and Personally for my BR Saber I like the Mid-grade blade over it over the UE
