SPOILERS for Batman v Superman may follow.

An unprecedented team-up for live-action DC movies, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash will join forces on the big screen next fall in effort to save the world from its greatest threats yet. And they might have to do it without the help of the Man of Steel who sacrificed himself to stop Doomsday during the climactic battle of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

That is, if you don’t believe Superman will rise again. And he will. Obviously. While we visited the set of Justice League last week at Warner Bros. Leavesden studios in southeast England, Superman was noticeably absent from the War Room where concept art was displayed on every wall and from the costume department where all the other heroes had their outfits showcased. But of course, there is no Justice League without Superman and that’s why it’s unsurprising to see Henry Cavill’s name in the official Justice League movie synopsis.

After all, Cavill showed up during the Warner Bros. presentation at the Las Vegas CinemaCon event in April during a pre-recorded message from the set during pre-production where he was training for the part. So, without further ado, here are the official logo treatments for Justice League and the official synopsis:

While on set the director and producer chairs had an icon version of this logo, with the letters “JL” featuring the star in the middle and a shield crest around it, same font as the logos above (with white text on black backing).

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.  Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.  But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, this marks the big screen debut of the Justice League, featuring an all-star lineup: Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher.

The supporting cast not listed here also includes J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Amber Heard as Mera, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Joe Morton as Dr. Silas Stone, and various cast members of Wonder Woman.

Suicide Squad will arrive on August 5, 2016, followed by Wonder Woman on June 2, 2017; Justice League on November 17, 2017; The Flash on March 16, 2018; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; an untitled DC Film on October 5, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; an untitled DC film on November 1, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020.

A spoiler alert on one of those paragraphs would have been nice, for those of us who haven't seen BvS yet.  Though, it's also not terribly surprising and Superman will obviously rise again. (I told friends at school that when he "died" in the comics in the '90s, though they said he wouldn't and then developed amnesia about the conversations when he did)

It sounds interesting.  Though, I'm reserving any potential excitement about it until after I see BvS, when it becomes available to watch at the house.

I'll put up a warning, but the movie has been out for 3 months now.

I don't go to the movies all that often.  I usually wait for home video or streaming.  But, amazingly, in 3 months I've avoided major spoilers.  So, a minor (and, realistically, predictable) one at this stage isn't so bad.  It just caught me off guard is all, given that the thread is about the Justice League movie and not BvS.

That's fair, but consider yourself warned, because these films are very connected Smiley

There was actually quite a bit of information released today regarding the Justice League movie, this was the least spoilery of the bunch.

Got it.  I'll stay out of Justice League information articles and discussions until I see BvS.  Thanks for the warning.  I plan to rent BvS for streaming as soon as it's available.  I hope they'll have the extended cut available for streaming rental.
